Additional Persecution News from China – March 21, 2016 (20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report,18 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 12 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Jianping County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yin Xiuzhi Faces Trial

Ms. Yin Xiuzhi is held in the Panjin City Detention Center in the Ershili area, Xinglongtai District. She was scheduled to be tried on March 25, 2016.

2. [Xiangyang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Yuxiang Detained

Ms. Liu Yuxiang was arrested when she distributed Falun Gong informational materials in Miaozi Town, Luanchuan County, Luoyang City, Henan Province, on March 11, 2016. She was taken into custody for four days. She has since returned home.

3. [Qihe County, Shandong Province] Ms. Huang Yuping and Mr. Wei Lesheng Remain in Detention

Ms. Huang Yuping and Mr. Wei Lesheng were arrested when they distributed Falun Gong informational materials on February 29, 2016. Both practitioners were taken to the Dezhou Detention Center for 15 days of detention. They were scheduled to be released on March 16, but detention center officials refused to let them go home.

4. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Geng Lizhu and Mr. Li Qiang Detained

Four officers from the Dongguan Police Station in the Lixia District broke into Mr. Geng Lizhu's home on January 13, 2016. They videotaped and photographed the interior of Mr. Geng's home, arrested him, and took him to the Jinan City Detention Center for seven days of detention.

Mr. Li Qiang was held in the Jinan City Detention Center with Mr. Geng. He was detained for seven days for suing Jiang Zemin.

5. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zheng Lianhua Arrested

Ms. Zheng Lianhua from Zhuanghe City was arrested by officers from the Guangmingshan Town Police Station on March 19, 2016. She was taken to Dalian City.

6. [Foshan City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Lin Xiaorui Detained

Mr. Lin Xiaorui was arrested by officers from the No. 1 Criminal Police Squadron in the Guicheng Police Station in the Nanhai District on March 17, 2016 for telling people about Falun Gong. He was placed in criminal detention and was held in the Nanhai District Detention Center for four days. On March 18, the police ransacked Mr. Lin's home and threatened his family.

7. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Bian Pingge Arrested

Ms. Bian Pingge was reported to the police for using paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them. She was arrested by officers from the Wucheng Police Station in the Xiaodian District in mid-March 2016.

8. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Yinglan Arrested

Ms. Li Yinglan was arrested on March 17, 2016. She was released that day.

9. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Zhang Yuzhi Harassed

Ms. Zhang Yuzhi was harassed at home by the police in March 2016.

10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Fourteen Practitioners Taken into Custody

Ms. Cheng Mingjuan was arrested at home by officers from the Domestic Security Division and the Yihe Road Police Station on the morning of March 9, 2016. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books and a computer. She was released on bail that day after she failed the physical exam.

That same day, Mr. Sun Yong who lives in Kuanping Road was also arrested by officers from the city Domestic Security Division and the Changjiu Road Police Station.

On March 9, 2016, officers from the Domestic Security Sub-Division of Changchun City took 12 practitioners to the detention center and lockup center. Eleven practitioners are still detained, but one was released.

11. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Wang Zhihong Detained

Mr. Wang Zhihong was arrested by officers from the Laojunying Police Station on the evening of March 19, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin. He was detained for five days.

12. [Bin County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhao Dezhi and Ms. Wen Guizhi Arrested

Ms. Zhao Dezhi and Ms. Wen Guizhi were reported to the police on March 13, 2016 for talking to people about Falun Gang and distributing Falun Gong informational materials. Both practitioners were arrested and taken to the Minhe Police Station. The police attempted to extort money from their families but failed. Both practitioners returned home that day.

13. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Seven Practitioners Detained

Mr. Sun Ruijie from Gulazi Village in the Dongling District was arrested on March 14, 2016. He was taken to the Shenyang City Detention Center.

More than twelve practitioners from Gulazi Village were arrested by officers from the Hunnan Police Department in the Dongling District on November 2, 2015. Ms. Wu Lianzhen, 68, her husband Mr. Li Zhixiang, 69, and four other practitioners have remained in custody at the Shenyang Detention Center. When the couple was arrested, the police also confiscated Falun Gong books and extorted 15,000 yuan in cash from their family.

14. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Hong'e Arrested

Ms. Zhao Hong'e went to the Maokuishan Police Station to apply for a citizenship identity card on the morning of March 18, 2016. The officer who handled the case told Ms. Zhao to sign paperwork to stop practicing Falun Gong, otherwise she would not get her ID card. Ms. Zhao refused and was arrested. Three officers forcibly took her to her home and ransacked it. They confiscated Falun Gong books. Ms. Zhao was released that afternoon.

Mr. Peng Yaxin and Mr. Zhang Guangjie were transferred to the Shayang Detention Center.

16. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Mr. He Yongming Sentenced to Prison

Mr. He Yongming was sentenced to two years in prison.

Mr. Wu Jinshui and Mr. Yang Riming were taken to Sihui Prison in January 2016.

18. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Yalin Forced to Leave Home

Officers from the Haijunguangchang Police Station in the Zhongshan District showed up at Mr. Li Yalin's home and attempted to arrest him on the evening of March 15, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin. Mr. Li was forced to leave home to avoid arrest. Many practitioners in Dalian City were arrested or harassed recently for suing Jiang Zemin.

19. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Officers from the Zhaoyang Road Police Station arrested Ms. An Fengxia, who lives in Donggang District, on the morning of March 18, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin.

On the evening of March 17, 2016, officers from the Shijiu Border Police Station broke into Ms. Wang Yun's home and harassed her.

Three female practitioners were also arrested while distributing Falun Gong informational materials in Mazhuang Village in Houcun Town on March 4, 2016. The three practitioners are held in the Rizhao Detention Center.

20. [Anping County, Hebei Province] Ms. Jin Xiaoyu Arrested, Other Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Jin Xiaoyu was arrested by officers from the Chengguan Town Police Station on the morning of March 10, 2016. She was taken to the Hengshui Police Station.

That same day, the police also harassed Ms. Li Lingxiao and Ms. Qiao Naran.
