(Minghui.org) Ms. Chen E, 68, was sent to Liaoning Women's Prison on March 29, 2016, to serve a three-and-a-half-year sentence for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Dafa.
Ms. Chen, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Dalian City, Liaoning Province, was arrested by four officers from the Qidingshan Police Station in Jinzhou District on June 23, 2015. Her home was ransacked, and a computer, cell phone, and Falun Dafa books were confiscated.
Ms. Chen was later taken to the Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian City. The Jinzhou District Court interrogated her on November, 23, 2015. Two days later, she was given a three-and-a-half-year prison sentence. Her appeal was rejected by the Dalian City Intermediate Court.
Ms. Chen had many illnesses prior to practicing Falun Dafa including heart disease, and frequent spells of severe vertigo. Her condition continued to worsen despite the medication prescribed for her. Her husband grew seriously ill and died, and she was beset by continuous crises.
Ms. Chen became healthy and she was no longer hot-tempered after she began to practice Falun Dafa in the Spring of 1999, and she followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in her daily life. Because she was successful in growing vegetables in two large greenhouses, she also did hourly labor in other people's greenhouses. Many greenhouse owners tried to hire her because of her gardening skills.
She is also responsible for providing care for her 90-year-old mother and helping to care for her grandchildren.
