(Minghui.org) Two women from Zibo City, Shandong Province, were recently tried for filing lawsuits against Jiang Zemin and holding the former Chinese dictator responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong.

Ms. Wang Yuxiang and Ms. Liu Shouzhi, both Falun Gong practitioners, were tried in the Zichuan District Court in Zibo on March 16, 2016.

Ms. Wang Yuxiang filed her lawsuit against Jiang Zemin with the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate in 2015. Banyang Road Police Substation officers arrested her and ransacked her home on September 1, 2015. They took 10,000 yuan in cash that Ms. Wang had set aside for her daughter’s wedding. They also took away other valuables, such as a printer and computer. Ms. Wang was detained in the Zibo City Detention Center.

Songling Road Police Substation officers in the Zichuan District broke into Ms. Liu Shouzhi's home at 11:00 a.m. on August 31, 2015, and arrested her, her husband Mr. Li Xingrong, her son Mr. Li Xianxin, and another practitioner. They ransacked the home and confiscated a printer, two satellite receivers, Falun Gong materials, and photos of the master of Falun Gong, Li Hongzhi.

Mr. Li Xingrong and Mr. Li Xianxin were released on bail with travel restrictions.

Ms. Liu Shouzhi, her husband, and her son filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin with the Supreme People's Court and Procuratorate in July 2015 and received confirmation that they had been received.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
