Additional Persecution News from China – March 12, 2016 (20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 9 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 23 were illegally arrested. Several practitioners seeking to mail letters of complaint regarding Jiang Zemin to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme Court have met with obstacles.

1. [Tianjin] Ms. Ma Yumin Sentenced

Ms. Ma Yumin was arrested by officers from the local police station on April 10, 2015, for distributing VCDs about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was detained at the Tianjin No. 1 Detention Center.

She was sentenced to three years and three months in prison in October 2015. She was transferred to the Tianjin Women's Prison.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhong Shujuan Arrested

Ms. Zhong Shujuan was arrested by officers from the Xinghua Road Police Station on March 10, 2016, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.

3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Shuyu Arrested

Ms. Yang Shuyu was arrested on March 9, 2016. Her computer, printer, and other personal items were confiscated.

4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Guo Xiuhua Arrested

Ms. Guo Xiuhua was arrested by officers from the Baishan Road Police Station on March 9, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator. The police ransacked her home.

5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Wenxiu and Another Practitioner Detained

Ms. Zhang Wenxiu and another practitioner were arrested at Ms. Zhang's home on March 9, 2016. The police confiscated Falun Gong books, computers, and printers. Both are detained at the Changchun City No. 1 Detention Center.

6. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xuefen and Ms. Wang Guimei Detained

Ms. Wang Xuefen and Ms. Wang Guimei were arrested and taken to Zhaoyuan Detention Center by officers from the Zhangxing Town Government and Police Station on March 10, 2016.

7. [Shanghai] Mr. Tian Guibao Arrested and His Son Detained

Mr. Tian Guibao was arrested at home by officers from the Puxing Police Station on March 8, 2016. After being interrogated for four hours, he was released.

Mr. Tian's son was also arrested that afternoon. He was detained at the Pudongxin District Detention Center for five days.

8. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Meiling and Ms. Chen Xiuxiang Arrested

Ms. Sun Meiling and Ms. Chen Xiuxiang were arrested by officers from the Shouguang City Domestic Security Division on March 11, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked their homes.

9 [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Xiang Dong Detained

Ms. Xiang Dong was arrested by Huhai Police Station officers in the Xishan District on February 23, 2016. They ransacked her home and confiscated computers, printers, and informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is detained.

10. [Chongqing] Ms. Zheng Suyuan and Ms. Yang Renlan Detained

Ms. Zheng Suyuan and Ms. Yang Renlan were arrested on February 27, 2016. All of Ms. Zheng's Falun Gong books and informational materials were confiscated. Ms. Zheng is detained at the Baoluan Town Police Station and Ms. Yang at the Shuipingping Detention Center.

11. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Pan Chenhong and Another Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Pan Chenhong and another female practitioner were arrested by officers from the Qingdao Road Police Station on March 11, 2016.

Ms. Gao Jingyun, Ms. Yang Shujun, Ms. Huang Lihua, and another female practitioner were arrested on February 26, 2016. Ms. Gao and Ms. Yang are detained in Suihua Detention Center. Ms. Huang is in the Anda City Detention Center.

Ms. Li Yifeng and Ms. Zhang Xiaoling were arrested by Xu Shaoying, Liao Leixiang, and other officers from the Chaoyang District Police Department on December 8, 2015. Ms. Li is being held in the Chaoyang District Detention Center. They are due to be tried in Chaoyang Court on March 25, 2016.

19. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Jiang Yanfen Persecuted to Death

Ms. Jiang Yanfen, arrested on January 4, 2007, was detained at the Linxi Detention Center for a year. She was sentenced in the Linxi County Court to a one-year prison term. Ms. Jiang developed cerebrovascular bleeding as a result of being ill-treated in prison. She lapsed into a coma and passed away at age 62.

20. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Yanfang Detained

Ms. Zhang Yanfang and her husband and son (both non-practitioners) were arrested by plainclothes officers from Jinzhou District Police Department on March 9, 2016. The police ransacked their home. Her husband and son were released after being interrogated for more than three hours. Ms. Zhang is bein held in the Dalian Detention Center.
