Additional Persecution News from China – February 21, 2016 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 10 were illegally arrested.

1. [Qingcheng County, Gansu Province] Ms. Wang Yuxia Arrested

Ms. Wang Yuxia was arrested at home by local officers on February 17, 2016.

2. [Jiangchuan County, Yunnan Province] Mr. Li Yongkun and Ms. Li Qingmei Detained

Mr. Li Yongkun and Ms. Li Qingmei were arrested at home by officers from Jiangchuan County in September 2015, for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator. They have been being detained at the Weiguan Village Detention Center.

3. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Hu Wenqing and Ms. Hu Xuefang Sentenced

Ms. Hu Xuefang, in her 40s, was arrested and taken to the Gushi County Detention Center by officers from the County Domestic Security Division in October 2014, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. In October 2015, she was sentenced to a five year prison term by Gushi County Court. She is detained at Gushi County Prison.

Mr. Hu Wenqing, 69, was arrested and taken to the Huaibin County Detention Center by officers from the County Domestic Security Division in May 2015, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. He was brutally tortured at the detention center. He was sentenced to a six-year prison term in October 2015. He is still detained at the detention center.

4. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Liang Yunying Detained

Ms. Liang Yunying was arrested by officers from the Guanzhuang Oil Field Police Department on February 18, 2016. She is detained at the Nanyang City Detention Center.

5. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Han Yuman Detained

Mr. Han Yuman was taken to Pudong Detention Center on February 15, 2016, for a 15 day detention term.

6. [Guigang City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region] Ms. Zhang Jie Detained

Ms. Zhang Jie was arrested by officers from the Gangbei Police Station on December 12, 2015, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was held at a local detention center.

On the seventh day, she collapsed at the center and as a result her skull was fractured in several places. She was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment and later released after her family signed a document.

7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Shan Qinshu Detained

Ms. Shan Qinshu, arrested on February 20, 2016, is detained at Zaohua Detention Center.

8. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Cheng Guimin and Ms. Wang Mei Arrested

Ms. Cheng Guimin and Ms. Wang Mei were arrested and taken to the Dahuangzhuang Police Station on February 17, 2016, for posting informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were released the next day.

9. [Chongqing] Ms. Jiang Min Arrested

Ms. Jiang Min was arrested and taken to the Shuitu Police Station on February 18, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home.

10. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Qu Shurong Detained

Ms. Qu Shurong was arrested by officers from the Wulong Police Station on November 8, 2015, for distributing table calendars which contained information about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is detained at the Qiqihar No.1 Detention Center.

Ms. Li Shijie and Mr. Yi Yushan were transferred to the Changsha City No. 2 Detention Center on February 19, 2016.

Ms. Wang Wenxin, 70, was arrested on February 9, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is detained at the Pudong New District No.2 Detention Center in Shanghai.
