(Minghui.org) My wife was telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong one April day last year when she was arrested and sent to a detention center.

Four months later she was sentenced to six years in prison. At first I didn't know what to do. Then I realized that to rescue my wife I had to clarify the truth to policemen.

I didn't focus on rescuing my wife but took the opportunity to let as many people as possible know about persecution and how wonderful Falun Gong is. Here I share my experiences with fellow practitioners.

Eliminating the Attachment to Fear

When I heard that my wife was arrested, I was very angry but didn't know what to do. I did nothing but watch police search our apartment and take our personal belongings and Falun Gong-related books and materials.

Other practitioners shared experiences with me and we all looked inside. I began to understand how to counteract the persecution and realized that I must negate the path arranged by the old forces and instead follow the Fa.

So I declared on the Minghui website to invalidate all statements which I made against my will and to strictly follow Dafa's requirements to be a genuine practitioner.

Then I started to study the Fa calmly. I realized that to rescue my wife, I should treat her as a practitioner.

How should I start? I had no idea. I asked practitioners who had experience before and was told to study the Fa more, always look inside, and try our best to clarify the truth. I joined a Fa study group every day and tried to read as much as possible.

I realized that it was the fear that had stopped me. To eliminate the attachment to fear, I went with other practitioners to the domestic security office to seek the release of my wife.

The police avoided meeting with me and told me that they had submitted my wife's case to the procuratorate. When I went to the procuratorate, they directed me back to the domestic security office as the case had been returned for further investigation.

I didn't give up. I continually made phone calls to the police to clarify the truth, while looking inside to identify my loopholes. My attachment to fear was getting weaker and weaker.

Filing a Criminal Complaint

I learned on May 18 that many of our local practitioners who had been persecuted were filing lawsuits against Jiang Zemin for launching the persecution of Falun Gong. Some of them suggested I file a criminal complaint to expose the sentencing of my wife and to offer an opportunity for judicial officials to read about the persecution of Falun Gong.

I agreed and, with the help of practitioners, finished my criminal complaint and sent it out on May 25.

I received the delivery confirmation the next day. I went around to deliver copies of the criminal complaints to all the departments I had dealt with: the domestic security office, procuratorate, court, detention center, and others.

I told them how Jiang Zemin persecuted Falun Gong practitioners, and many of Jiang's followers have received just retribution. I urged them to stop their participation in the persecution.

The domestic security office detained me when I gave them the criminal complaint. During the 15 days of detention, I clarified the truth to everyone I met. Some understood what was going on and agreed to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its associated organizations.

Focus on Clarifying the Truth to as Many People as Possible

Again and again the court delayed the date of my wife's hearing. During the waiting period, I worked with my local practitioners to tell people about the illegality of the persecution and urge them to quit the CCP. Our main purpose had changed from rescuing my wife to exposing the persecution to as many people as possible.

During the trial on June 28, the lawyer defended my wife by presenting the facts of how Jiang Zemin launched the persecution without any legal basis and how he abused his power to order the arrests and detention of numerous Falun Gong practitioners.

I wrote a letter to the judge expressing my hope that she would uphold justice and not follow Jiang Zemin's persecution policy. Unfortunately, she sentenced my wife to six years in prison on August 28.

I felt very sorry for the judge but I won't give up. I will continue to expose the persecution and seek the release of my wife.
