Additional Persecution News from China – February 26, 2016 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 26 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Sheng Arrested

Officers from the Wuhan Police Department and the Zhangjiawan Police Station showed up at Mr. Wang Sheng's store and ransacked it on the afternoon of February 24, 2016. They confiscated a computer, and also arrested Mr. Wang's wife. The officers ransacked their home in Wuhan City and confiscated several printers. Mr. Wang was held in custody and his wife was released.

2. [Huanan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Yang Yuntao Faces Harassment

Liu Guanghui, director of the Mingyi Township Police Station, along with other officers, arrested Mr. Yang Yuntao at home on November 9, 2015, and took him to the Huanan County Police Department. Mr. Yang was subsequently taken to the Huanan Forestry Bureau Detention Center for 12 days of detention. He was released on bail after ten days because his blood pressure reached 180.

Liu Guanghui forced Mr. Yang to go to the Huanan County Police Department to process paperwork on February 22, 2016. Mr. Yang is under constant harassment, and faces being subpoenaed at any time.

3. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Dexiu’s Subsidies Withheld

Ms. Zhang Dexiu is retired from the No. 6 Institute in Mianyang Science City. 10,000 yuan of her son's income was withheld by the authorities after she filed a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin early 2016. Her year-end subsidies were withheld as well.

4. [Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province] Twelve Practitioners Arrested

Twelve practitioners were arrested between January 8 and January 14, 2016.

Ms. Liu Guiqing (47 years old), Ms. Wang Hong (48), Ms. Ji Yanfang (59), Ms. Yin Yuzhen (67), Ms. Wu Sheng'e (68), Ms. Gao Zhaoling (78), and Mr. Wang were taken to the Zhuanyaowan Detention Center on January 25-26, 2016. They were blindfolded with black hoods over their heads while being taken to the detention center.

After Ms. Wang Hong was arrested, the officers took her back home in handcuffs and ransacked her home.

Ms. Zhang Qinying (61), Ms. Wang Shuyun (75), and three other practitioners were arrested.

5. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lang Huiqun Arrested

Officers from the Gaoxin District Police Department and the Gangcheng Police Station ransacked Ms. Lang Huiqun's home on October 22, 2015. They confiscated nearly 50 copies of Falun Gong books, over 60 brochures with Falun Gong content, one copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, two copies of Disintegrating Chinese Communist Party Culture, 32 display boards, a cutter, six packs of printing paper, and some plastic bags.

Ms. Lang was taken to the police station that morning. She was forced to take a physical exam at a detention center. She was released after 10:00 p.m. that night.

6. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ma Enzhi and Ms. Yin Guiqin Detained

Ms. Ma Enzhi and Ms. Yin Guiqin were arrested by officers from the Xiangshuihe Police Station when telling people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of February 24, 2016. She was taken to the Xinbin County Domestic Security Division. That day, officers from the division took both practitioners to the Nangou Detention Center in Fushun City. Detention center officials extorted 1,000 yuan from Ms. Ma's family using the excuse of covering the costs of meals. Ms. Yin's home was ransacked.

7. [Kaijiang County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhou Rong Faces Trial

Ms. Zhou Rong was arrested on July 25, 2015. She was held in the Dazhou City Detention Center for seven months. No family visits were allowed. She was officially placed under arrest on August 8, 2015. Her home was ransacked on the afternoon of August 10. Her daughter's home in Chengdu City was ransacked on August 27, 2015. Ms. Zhou is now facing trial.

8. [Gucheng County, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Jianping Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Wang Jianping was arrested by officers from the Dezhou City Domestic Security Division in Shandong Province on September 17, 2014. He has been held in the Dezhou City Detention Center. He was twice tried in court, and was sentenced to a four-year prison term on February 5, 2016.

9. [Jiajiang County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Lan Mingfen Arrested

Ms. Lan Mingfen was arrested on November 5, 2015. Her home was ransacked in the early morning hours of November 6. She was held in the Jiajiang County Detention Center. She was officially placed under arrest on January 18, 2016.

10. [Hanchuan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Li Xianqi and Ms. Peng Lumei Arrested

Mr. Li Xianqi, 40, was arrested at work by officers from the Huayan Police Station on the afternoon of February 24, 2016. Ms. Peng Lumei, 70, was also arrested that afternoon. Both practitioners' homes were ransacked. They were taken to Wuhan City that night.

11. [Jiedong County, Guangdong Province] Over 20 Practitioners Arrested

Dozens of officers from the Jiedong County Police Department surrounded male practitioner A'jian's home at Lubi Village on the morning of February 25, 2016. They arrested over 20 practitioners, including very young children.

Among those arrested were:A'jian, A'jian's wife Ms. Xu Ruiping, and Ms. Wu Fengyin from Lubi Village.Mr. Yang Zhuangkai and his daughter Ms. Yang Xijie from Yunlu Town.

The officers ransacked the homes of A'jian and Mr. Yang. They took a lot of money which is used to operate Mr. Yang's business, from his home.

12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Gong Yuqun Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Gong Yuqun, 73, was arrested by police when she was distributing Falun Gong informational materials on February 22, 2016. She was held in the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center in Wuchang.

13. [Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province] Four Practitioners Held in Prison

Ms. Zhi Huilian from Qianqiao Town, Huishan District, was sentenced to one and a half years in prison. Ms. Guo Yueying was sentenced to six months in prison.

Ms. Deng Shiyu (72) and Ms. Chen Bingyu (72) were arrested on June 14, 2015. Both practitioners were held in the Pi County Detention Center until late 2015. Both were taken to the Nantong Women's Prison without a public hearing.

14. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Meng Qinsu Detained Again

Ms. Meng Qinsu, from Huayang Town, Tianfu New Area, was arrested again. She is being held in the Pi County Detention Center.

Ms. Meng was arrested by officers from the Huayang Town Police Station on June 2, 2015, and held for 15 days. Her thighs and buttocks were severely bruised from police beatings. She was not able to walk for a month afterwards.
