(Minghui.org) Since January of this year, more than 5,000 Chinese citizens from five different cities signed a petition supporting the prosecution of Jiang. Many of them condemned Jiang's corruption, and his abuse of power in persecuting Falun Gong and harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.

The citizens call upon the communist regime to stop the persecution of Falun Gong and demand the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate to bring Jiang to justice.

These 5,000 citizens come from Hengshui, Tangshan, and Dingzhou of Hebei Province, Jiamusi of Heilongjiang Province and Nanchang of Jiangxi Province.

Prior to these signees, thousands of citizens from Hebei, Sichuan, and Shandong Province have signed the petitions since May 2015.

“I want to be a righteous Chinese person!” said a woman while she was signing the petition.

Many elderly Chinese who witnessed the disastrous changes in China brought about by the Communist Party in the past several decades also signed the petition.

“Jiang has done so much harm to our country. We should unite and bring him to justice,” said a man in his seventies.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator. The law also allows people to file reporting criminal cases without need of using true names.

Over 200,000 Falun Gong practitioners and their family members have filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin with the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme People's Court since the end of May 2015. Many practitioners also encourage people to join the effort to report Jiang's crimes and stop the persecution.
