Additional Persecution News from China – January 9, 2016 (19 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 28 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 12 were illegally arrested.

1. [Fengning County, Hebei Province] Eight Practitioners Sentenced

The Fengning County Court illegally sentenced eight practitioners on December 12, 2015: 74-year-old Ms. Wang Guozhen to six years; 75-year-old Mr. Zhu Zhenqi to five years; Ms. Feng Yuzi to four years; Mr. Liu Zhifeng to 18 months; Mr. Zhang Jun to six months; Ms. Wu Yaru to three years, suspended for five years; Mr. Li Zhencai and Ms. Wang Xizi, both 76, to one year suspended for two years.

2. [Lanzhou, Gansu Province] Six Practitioners Sentenced

Six practitioners were tried in the Chengguan District Court in Lanzho on October 20, 2015, and sentenced on December 25, 2015: Ms. Tu Yuchun to eight years; Ms. Meng Yurong to five years; Ms. Wang Yurong to four years; Ms. Du Shuzhen to three and a half years; Mr. Lu Yongfei to three years; and Ms. Jiao Lili to eight years.

3. [Danyang City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Yang Linzhen Sentenced

Mr. Yang Lizhen was sentenced to three and a half years.

4. [Huailai County, Hebei Province] Ms. Liang Zhiyun Arrested

5. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Qian Aizhi Arrested

Ms. Qian Aizhi filed a legal complaint against Jiang Zemin. The police arrested her and searched her home on December 14, 2015. The arrest warrant was issued ten days later. Police have now filed charges with the Procuratorate.

6. [Wusu City, Xinjiang] Three Appeals Denied, One Filed

Tacheng Area Middle Court denied the appeals from Ms. Ma Chengying, Mr. Yang Wanjun, and Mr. Zhang Chengjun. They were sentenced to six years, five years, and three and a half years, respectively.

Ms. Wang Jing from Changji, Xinjiang was sentenced to five years in prison on February 7, 2015. She appealed to the Changji Middle Court.

7. [Urumqi, Xinjiang] Ms. Pan Xiuhua Incarcerated in Xinjiang Women's Prison

8. [Jinan, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Gang and Wife Arrested

Officers from the Hongjialou Police Station arrested Mr. Zhao Gang and his wife on January 6, 2016, and detained them at the Jinan City Detention Center for seven days.

9. [Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Zhang Liangfeng Arrested

Mr. Zhang Liangfeng was arrested at work on December 29, 2015. The police searched his home that afternoon and seized several personal belongings. They also broke into his car and searched it. Mr. Zhang is currently being held in a detention center.

10. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Xianrong Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xianrong was arrested for speaking up for Falun Gong on December 28, 2015, by officers from the Yedian Town Police Station. She was detained in the Mengyin County Detention Center and transferred to Linyi City two days later.

11. [Linhai City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Dong Youshun and His Wife Transferred to Detention Center

Mr. Dong Youshun and his wife, Ms. Bi Minhua, were taken from a brainwashing center to the Linhai City Detention Center.

12. [Jiaozuo, Henan Province] Ms. Liu Changping Arrested

Ms. Liu Changping was arrested and held at the Jiaozuo City Detention Center on December 29, 2015, by officers from the Shangbaizuo Police Station.

13. [Yongnian County, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Caixia Harassed

After Ms. Li Caixia filed a complaint against Jiang Zemin, officers from the Mingguan Police Station harassed her at home. They seized her computer, threatened her family, and extorted 10,000 yuan from her.

14. [Linquan County, Anhui Province] Four Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Zhang Qiying, Ms. Liu Zhangshi, Ms. Liu Xialing, and Mr. Liu Zongzheng were arrested at Ms. Liu Xialing's home on October 21, 2015, by officers from the Fanji Police Station. The officers extorted 500 yuan from Ms. Zhang Qiying and 1,000 yuan from Ms. Liu Zhangshi, and released them that day. The officers searched the homes of Ms. Liu Xialing and Mr. Liu Zongzheng, confiscated their Falun Gong books, and detained them for 15 days.

15. [Taikang County, Henan Province] Ms. Zhang Hongyan Arrested

Ms. Zhang Hongyan was arrested on December 31, 2015, by officers from the Zhukou Town Police Station, for filing a legal complaint against Jiang Zemin. They searched her home that night. Ms. Zhang is being detained in the Taikang Detention Center.

16. [Wuji County, Hebei Province] Ms. Yue Gai Held at Brainwashing Center

Ms. Yue Gai was taken to the Shijiazhuang City Brainwashing Center on January 6, 2016. She and her husband, Mr. Shi Jie, were previously arrested for filing complaints twice against Jiang Zemin. She was later released, but Mr. Shi was taken to the Chengbei Detention Center in Wuji.
