How Practitioners Are Persecuted in Shandong Province Women's Prison
(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Shandong Province Women's Prison are detained primarily in the No. 11 Ward, with convicted criminals. The criminals are assigned to monitor the practitioners at all times.
Newcomers are first sent to the “strictly-controlled” area on one side of the No. 11 Ward building, where four collaborators conduct brainwashing sessions every day, two in the morning and two in the afternoon. This so-called “assisted education” starts early in the morning between 5:00 and 6:00 a.m., and ends at around 11:00 p.m. or midnight.
Those who refuse to be brainwashed or write a “thought report” are placed in a cell and forced to sit for long hours. They are not allowed to talk or do anything. Two or three criminal inmates are assigned to monitor each practitioner.
Those who give in and write repentance statements and “thought reports” are transferred to regular cells. The regular cells are located on the right side of the entrance hall. They are on three floors, with five cells per floor, and eight to twelve inmates in each cell.
There are three types of inmates in each cell... the head inmate, those who refuse to renounce their beliefs, and those who have written repentance statements and earned reductions in their prison terms.
All activities in the cell are designed to brainwash the practitioners. In the morning, they are forced to watch video programs that slander Falun Gong and its founder. Most of the programs come from CCTV's “Focus Talks.”
In the afternoon and evening, practitioners are forced to read books filled with anti-Falun Gong content, discuss what they've read, and write “thought reports.” The head of the cells and those who have written repentance statements regularly report progress to the guards.
Each cell is enclosed, and the criminal inmates watch the hallways around the clock. They also have keys to open each cell. The practitioners only have twenty minutes at noon to go to the courtyard outside, and are detained inside the cell for the rest of the day. This brainwashing continues non-stop, every day. Those who refuse to renounce their beliefs are bullied and reported to the guards.
When the so-called “group study” and “group activities” are held, no one is allowed to have any contact with others, which includes talking, hand gestures, and smiling. If practitioners are related, they are detained in separate cells. More than ten pairs of related practitioners, including mothers and daughters, or sisters, have been detained in the prison since before 2014.
Solitary compartments in the “strictly-controlled area” are used to detain the most steadfast practitioners, and those who violate the rules. They are under the watch of criminal inmates day and night. Most of these cells are sound proof, have their windows sealed, and are under video surveillance.
Ms. Li Li has been in solitary confinement for years. She is often beaten and verbally abused. Ms. Yang Lijuan has also been force fed, beaten, and verbally abused.
Fu Guiying and Lin Guoling are the team leaders in charge of Falun Gong practitioners. They collaborate with the guards to try to brainwash practitioners, and go to great lengths to torture them. They've also enlisted the help of other inmates to abuse, torture, and harass practitioners.
Some of these perpetrators are now experiencing karmic retribution (In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution is widely accepted. That is, that good is rewarded with good and evil behavior is met with bad consequences). Lin Guoling developed uterine fibroids, which bled so much that she was forced to have a hysterectomy. Two who had written repentance statements and helped brainwash practitioners were often losing consciousness due to severe heart problems, while another one was having a hard time breathing.
