(Minghui.org) Many practitioners I know believe the reason they could not clarify the facts about Falun Dafa well was because of their lack of knowledge, articulateness, listeners' poor understanding, and other things. They thought that only knowledgeable and articulate practitioners could easily talk to people about Dafa.
However, there are many reasons that have nothing to do with ordinary human abilities, as some factors interfere with the people we are talking to, including thought karma, interference from the old forces, and influence from indoctrination by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). It also depends on whether the listener trusts the practitioner enough to accept what is being said.
Being trustworthy requires compassion, which practitioners attain through cultivation. Only when we identify and eliminate our attachments and demon nature, will compassion emerge and listeners trust us.
Old Force Factors Behind the Listener Disintegrates
An elderly practitioner I know does not use any rich language when she talks to people. She simply asks, “Have you joined the CCP, Communist Youth League and/or the Young Pioneers? The CCP is doomed. Quit the Communist organizations to be safe.”
The people she talks to usually agree to quit without hesitation. Why? As soon as this practitioner starts to talk, the old force factors behind the listeners are disintegrated. The listener's true nature can then emerge, and they understand what the practitioner says is the truth. This is the reason why she's able to help dozens of people quit the CCP within a short space of time.
Breaking Through Obstacles and Cultivating Compassion
The process of clarifying the facts is a process of breaking through obstacles in the listeners' minds. When we cultivate ourselves to a certain level, we can easily disintegrate the old force factors that interfere, and our words can then reach the inner consciousness of the listener.
When we seriously cultivate ourselves and put our hearts into offering salvation to sentient beings, our shortcomings can be compensated by our strong points.
Master said:
“I often say this: If you speak to others out of your kindheartedness, entirely without any selfishness or your own self-interest, and completely for the sake of others, your words will move others to tears. But if what you say is self-centered and every word you say is intended to please everyone, “Oh, he’d better not misunderstand me as meaning this or that,” or “I’d better watch what I say so others won’t use it to criticize me later,” and has all kinds of things, then the messages carried by the words active in your mind and emitted from your mind will be very bad. If you are truly kindhearted and without any of your own motives, what you say will be nothing but pure and kind.” (Teaching the Fa at the Assistants’ Fa Conference in Changchun)
In my understanding, the only way to touch people's hearts is to cultivate compassion, eliminate our selfishness, and put others first. When talking to people about Dafa, we have to purify our hearts, let go the “sophisticated” and “dodgy way” of thinking, and eliminate our fears, worries, and arrogance.
Negative reactions from listeners is probably triggered by our attachments or demon nature. I used to think that certain people were difficult to save because they didn't look kind. As a result, they turned around and left as soon as I approached them.
Being Upright and Honest When Clarifying the Facts
Fear usually troubles us when we talk to others about Dafa. Being secretive or overcautious would compromise our persuasiveness in helping others to understand the facts about Dafa. When I talk to people about quitting the communist organizations, I think of my divine nature, and forget about whether the police or secret agents are around.
Master said:
“My roots are all deeply planted in the universe, and if someone could affect you, he could affect me, and to put it directly, he’d be able to affect the universe.” (The First Talk, Zhuan Falun)
I rarely run into any dangerous situations because of my strong faith in Dafa. I even approach the police on duty and talk to them about quitting the CCP.
If we appear worried and say things that are not on the Fa, the listeners do not like it. All we need to have is a frank and open manner, and not worry about the result of our conversation. Just do our best to offer salvation to others.
When I first started clarifying the facts to people face to face, my mind was filled with negative thoughts. I could hardly think straight or put my heart into it. During the most difficult time, Master's words came to my mind,
“In the old days cultivators would climb into them with a rope, cut the rope, and cultivate inside. If they didn’t succeed at cultivating they would die in there. There was no water and no food, and it was under these extremely special circumstances that they used a special cultivation method.” (The Eighth Talk, Zhuan Falun)
I used to have to strive to offer salvation to sentient beings under very difficult circumstances. I dared not tell people that I practiced Falun Dafa, much less about helping them quit the CCP. I simply chatted with people and told them about the persecution of practitioners.
Gradually, I started telling people about quitting the CCP. I searched my heart for what impeded me in truth clarification, and was able to find my attachments every time. As I eliminated them, my words became more touching, and it became easier to help people quit the CCP.
It then took me only a few minutes to help people quit the CCP. After three years, the number of people who quit the Communist organizations through me came to more than 6,000.
I feel that my energy has recently grown stronger. I can disintegrate evil factors behind everyday people as soon as I talk to them. Even wicked people do not treat me badly.
Master has gradually taken away a lot of interfering thoughts from my mind and given me wisdom.
