Additional Persecution News from China – January 29, 2016 (Part II, 22 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, at least 29 were illegally arrested, and 9 were arrested and/or detained for suing Jiang Zemin.

1. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Pang Shuyue Abused in Prison

Ms. Pang Shuyue is detained in the No. 14 Ward of the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison. She is undergoing forced “transformation” and has been deprived of family visits, phone calls, and showers. She was forced to watch videos that slander Falun Gong. Additionally, she was verbally abused, threatened, and intimidated.

2. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Ma Xinyu Detained for Suing Jiang Zemin

Mr. Ma Xinyu from the Nanjiao District was arrested by police officers from the Huiqu Village Police Station on January 27, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese communist regime. He was held in the Datong City No. 2 Detention Center for 10 days.

3. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Congchun and Other practitioners Detained

Ms. Li Congchun and other practitioners were arrested by police officers from the Chengguan Police Station for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in Feixiang County on January 26, 2016. They are held in the Feixiang County Detention Center.

4. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Feng Yuqiu, Mr. Niu Yuhui, and Ms. Niu Yumin were arrested by police officers from the Beicheng Police Station for telling people about Falun Gong on January 27, 2016. The officers ransacked Ms. Niu's home and confiscated Falun Gong books and other items. Ms. Feng was detained for 10 days, and Mr. Niu Yujui and Ms. Niu Yumin for 15 days in the Nanshan Detention Center.

5. [Shaodong County, Hunan Province] Mr. Luo Tongchun Detained

Mr. Luo Tongchun was arrested on January 27, 2016. He is held in the Xinglong Detention Center.

6. [Shaoyang City, Hunan Province] Five Practitioners Detained for Suing Jiang Zemin

Mr. Shi Kaiyuan, Mr. Liu Yong, Ms. Yan Shuzhou, Ms. Gong Yan, and Mr. Liu Zhihong were arrested by local police officers between January 26 and January 27, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin. They were detained in the Yangjialong Detention Center for 10 days.

7. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Chengdong and Ms. Wang Yuxiang Detained

Mr. Wang Chengdong and Ms. Wang Yuxiang were arrested by police officers from the Chengfa Township Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong on January 27, 2016. Both practitioners were taken to the Yushu Detention Center for five days of detention.

8. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Jiguo and Mr. Hu Qinggui Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zhang Jiguo is from Raoyuefu Village, Fangshan District. She appealed her sentence and the intermediate court upheld the original verdict of four years in prison. She was taken to the Beijing Women's Prison on December 9, 2015.

Mr. Hu Qinggui is from the Fangshan District. He appealed the verdict, but the court upheld the original verdict of three years in prison in December 2015.

9. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Hongbin Detained for Suing Jiang Zemin

Mr. Li Hongbin, an employee at the Keshan Farm Agricultural Bank, was arrested by Tian Yunlong, Wang Xiaoli, Wang Bo, and other officers from the Keshan Farm Police Department on January 27, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin. He was taken to the Chahayang Farm Detention Center.

10. [Qingyang City, Gansu Province] Mr. Zhang Zhihe Detained

Mr. Zhang Zhihe from Dongzhi Town, Xifeng District, was arrested for telling people about Falun Gong on January 21, 2016. He is held in the Ning County Detention Center.

Mr. Jia Li from Xifang Town, Hunyuan County, was taken to the Hunyuan County Detention Center on January 28, 2016.

12. [Shanghai] Ms. Shi Lili Arrested

Ms. Shi Lili from Nanqiao Town, Fengxian District, was arrested by officers from the Fengxian District Police Department on January 20, 2016 for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. Her home was ransacked.

13. [Qingyang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Cao Linying and Ms. Shi Xiqin Arrested

Ms. Cao Linying and Ms. Shi Xiqin were arrested by officers from the Hesheng Town Police Station in Ning County for telling people about Falun Gong in Hesheng Town on January 26, 2016. Ms. Shi was released for health reasons. Ms. Cao was taken to the Ning County Detention Center.

14. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Ms. Yin Yanguang Arrested

Ms. Yin Yanguang from Tuanzhuang Village, Mapaoquan Town, Maiji District, was arrested by Tianshui police on January 22, 2016.

15. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Shiping and Ms. Wan Hongxia Detained

Mr. Li Shiping and Ms. Wan Hongxia, from Dongxishui Village, Langyashan Town, Yi County, were arrested by police officers from the Pocang Township Police Station, Yi County, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in Pocang Township on January 20, 2016. Mr. Li's car was confiscated by the officers. Both practitioners were taken to the Yi County Lockup. Ms. Wan was transferred to the Baoding City Detention Center, and Mr. Li to the Yi County Detention Center on January 23, 2016.

16. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Tang Guoyun and Ms. Zhang Daofen from Hongheqiao Town were arrested by police officers from the Hongheqiao Police Station for posting Falun Gong informational materials in December 2015 around town. The officers ransacked their homes and confiscated Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and an MP3 player. Police extorted 1,000 yuan from each practitioner before they were released

Ms. Ren Xuling and her husband Mr. Zhu Shiyou were arrested at home by Xu Yanping, officer from the Funan County 610 Office, and police officers from the Hongheqiao Police Station on January 20, 2016. The couple was taken to the police station. Ms. Ren was released that day. Mr. Zhu was detained for 10 days.

Mr. Zhu Shigui and his wife were also arrested and taken to the police station on January 26, 2016. Mr. Zhu's wife was released that day. He was detained for 10 days.

17. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Nie Xue Detained

Ms. Nie Xue was arrested by officers from the Zhongnan Police Department and the Zhongnanlu Police Station on January 26, 2016. The officers confiscated over 40 Falun Gong books. She was detained for five days.

18. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. You Guozhong Detained

Mr. You Guozhong from the Hengshan District was arrested by police officers from the Dahengshan Police Station for telling people about Falun Gong on January 27, 2016. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books, and an MP3 and MP4 music player. He was taken to the Jixi City No. 2 Detention Center for 10 days of detention.

19. [Heyuan City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wu Hongwei Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Wu Hongwei from Yuancheng District was sentenced to five years in prison by the Yuancheng District Court on January 26, 2016.

20. [Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Ms. Li Yi Detained for Suing Jiang Zemin

Ms. Li Yi was arrested at home by officers from the Henanlu Police Station, Xinshi District, on January 26, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin. She was taken to the Shuimogou Women's Detention Center for five days of detention.

21. [Jinsha County, Guizhou Province] Ms. Huang Linyuan Detained

Ms. Huang Linyuan was arrested by police officers for distributing Shen Yun DVDs on January 26, 2016. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, a printer, and some cash. She was held in the Jinsha County Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

22. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Guihui Arrested for Suing Jiang Zemin

Ms. Chen Guihui, 67, from Zhongdong Town, Huazhou City, was arrested by Ya Qiang, an officer from the local police station security team, on January 18, 2016. She was taken to the Heping Police Station for questioning about her lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. She was released 12 hours later.
