Additional Persecution News from China – January 24, 2016 (19 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 15 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 35 were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Over 10 Practitioners in Tongzhou District Arrested

Over 10 practitioners were studying the Falun Gong books in Ms. Qing Xiuying's home in Zhangjiawan Town in Tongzhou District in the afternoon on January 21, 2016. They were arrested and taken to the Zhangjiawan Police Station by Tongzhou District police.

Those arrested includes Ms. Qing Xiuying, Mr. Pang You, Mr. Bao Shouzhi, Ms. Zhao Xiuxiu (Mr. Bao's wife), Mr. Li Yeliang, Mr. Jiang Tao, Ms. Xu Xiuhong, Ms. Sun Jinxia, Ms. Zhang Lixin, Ms. Tian Changying, Mr. Liu Guozhong, a female practitioner called Jiajia, and Jiajia's mother. The officers ransacked their homes and confiscated several computers and printers.

2. [Zunhua City, Hebei Province] Several Practitioners Arrested for Suing Jiang Zemin

The following practitioners were arrested for suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese communist regime:

Ms. Cai Chunhua from Lizhuangzi Village, Dangyu Town, was arrested on January 14, 2016 by officers from the Zunhua City Domestic Security Division.

Mr. Zhao Guangming and Mr. Wen Zhihua from Wenzhuang Village were arrested on January 15, 2016.

Ms. Yan Guoyan from Qihu Village was arrested on January 15, 2016.

Ms. Li Shufen and her husband Mr. Gao Zilin from Donggou Village, Xixiaying Township, were arrested on January 15, 2016.

The officers went to Mr. Jia Fengzhong's home in Zhaozhuangzi Village, Jianming Town, on January 19, 2016. Mr. Jia was not at home. Then they went to Ms. Xu Fengxia's home and arrested her.

The officers also arrested Ms. Tian Xiuping, Ms. Tian Xiujun, and Mr. Zhao Guoquan in Houjiashan Village, Malanyu Town, on January 20, 2016.

Officers from the Zunhua City Domestic Secretary Division and the Liubeizhai Police Station arrested Ms. Li Yanjun at home in Gongli Village, Liubeizhai Township, at noon on January 15, 2016. They ransacked her home and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and Falun Gong calendars and books.

All of the above practitioners are held in Zunhua City Detention Center.

3. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhong Hua Harassed Repeatedly for Suing Jiang Zemin

Mr. Zhong Hua was harassed many times by employees of the Xi'an Road Neighborhood Administration Office between the end of the August 2015 and January 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin.

4. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Five Practitioners Harassed

Officers Bai Rui and Yu Tianbiao from the Jianzhu Police Station harassed Ms. Qi Aizhi's several times at her home and at work. They attempted to arrest and detain her, which would have resulted in her losing her job.

The same officers arrested Ms. Yan Junying at work and took her to the Harbin City No. 3. Detention Center. She was held in criminal detention for 15 days.

Officer Bai Rui extorted 500 yuan from Mr. Wang Yuhua and ordered him to sign certain documents. He also tried to extort 500 yuan from Ms. Cao Yulan and make her sign the documents, but she refused.

Ms. Liu Yan was forced to leave her home to avoid further harassment.

5. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Wang Guangyong and Mr. Yang Zhongliang Detained

Mr. Wang Guangyong and Mr. Yang Zhongliang went to a post office to mail their lawsuits against Jiang Zemin on the morning of January 15, 2016. Both practitioners were arrested that night by officers from the Xuzhou Domestic Security Division and the Xuzhou Police Station. They were taken to the Xuzhou Detention Center.

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yu Xiaowei Detained

Mr. Yu Xiaowei was arrested by officers from the Weixing Road Police Station in the afternoon on January 14, 2016. He was held in the Weizigou Detention Center for 15 days.

7. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Wang Qizhen, Mr. Bi Chunlong, and Ms. Yang Wenjuan were arrested on January 17, 2016, by officers from the Congtaixi Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were taken to the Handan City Detention Center.

The officers ransacked Mr. Wang's home and confiscated two printers, 1,900 yuan, 500 yuan in paper currency marked with information about the persecution of Falun Gong, and $200 USD.

8. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiang Yan's Home Ransacked

Six officers from the Dehui City Domestic Security Division broke into Ms. Jiang Yan's home and ransacked it on January 21, 2016. They confiscated Falun Gong books, two printers, supplies, four cell phones, and cash. Ms. Jiang escaped. Her father, who is in his 90s, was left on his own.

9. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Chunling's Family Harassed

Zhu Hongyu, an officer with the Gangyao Town Police Station in the Longtan District, when to harass Ms. Wang Chunling on January 18, 2016. Ms. Wang was not at home, so Zhu threatened her father-in-law instead.

Li Yanchun, a Gangyao Town Police Station officer, harassed Ms. Wang on the phone around July 2015.

10. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yu Aiji Detained

Ms. Yu Aiji is being held in the Shanyou Detention Center.

11. [Beijing] Mr. Sun Bai Arrested for Juing Jiang Zemin

Around a dozen officers from the Xiaoying Town Police Station in the Shunyi District showed up at Mr. Sun Bai's home in Shangnian Village on January 19, 2016. Mr. Sun, 71, was arrested and taken to the police station. The police interrogated him and demanded to know why he filed a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin. Mr. Sun was transferred to the Nihe Detention Center in the Shunyi District. The detention center refused to admit him. He was released the following day.

12. [Laiwu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Song Zhensheng Harassed

Mr. Song Zhensheng was harassed on January 21, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin.

13. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yanlei Detained

Ms. Liu Yanlei from the Gaoxin District was arrested at work by officers from the Hongjialou Police Station, Licheng District, on January 15, 2016. She was taken to the police station and interrogated concerning her lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. She refused to sign any statements guaranteeing that she would give up Falun Gong. She was placed under administrative detention for seven days and has returned home.

14. [Suixi County, Guangdong Province] Mr. Chen Xin Sentenced to 5Years in Prison

15. [Yuyao City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Li Caiping Detained

Ms. Li Caiping was followed and arrested by officers from the Yuyao City Domestic Security Division and the 610 Office. Her home was ransacked. She is now in the Yuyao City Detention Center.

16. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Cong Jianlan and Ms. Jiang Shufen Detained

Ms. Cong Jianlan and Ms. Jiang Shufen were arrested and taken to the Linglongtaishang Detention Center on January 23, 2016.

17. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Zhijun Detained

Mr. Wang Zhijun was arrested by officer Li from the Longkou Economic Development Zone Police Station on December 22, 2015. His home was ransacked. The officer confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Mr. Wang was taken to the Zhangjiagou Detention Center for five days.

18. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Yuxiang Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yuxiang went to the Jiangtai Township Government to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong on January 5, 2016. She was arrested. Staff from her Residential Committee and police officers ransacked her home that night. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Zhang had been detained in a labor camp three times. Several police officers showed up at her door on the morning of August 28, 2015. They broke the steel bar on the security door and forced their way in. She was arrested and handcuffed. She was released on September 24, 2015.

19. [Changzhi City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Fu Changsheng Arrested

Mr. Fu Changsheng from the Wangzhuang Coal Mine of the Shanxi Lu'an Mining Group was arrested by officers from the Public Security Division of the Wangzhuang Coal Mine and the Changlu Police Department on January 21, 2016. They ransacked his home and confiscated a computer, a printer, a cell phone, a tablet PC, printed materials, and a large amount of cash.
