Additional Persecution News from China – January 26, 2016 (24 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 21 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 13 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 30 were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Mr. Zhang Hongru and Mr. Zou Deyong Sentenced

The Changping Court sentenced Mr. Zhang Hongru and Mr. Zou Deyong to four years and three years in prison respectively.

2. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Jingyu Sentenced

Ms. Liu Jingyu, 66, was sentenced to four years on December 26, 2015, in the Jinzhou District Court. She is now in the Dalian City Detention Center.

3. [Beijing] Ms. Chen Xinzhu Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

Ms. Chen Xinzhu was sentenced secretly to four years on January 13, 2016, in the Haidian Court. She has appealed.

4. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ten Practitioners Detained for 15 Days

Ms. Mao Hangjuan, Ms. Wang Qimei, Mr. Zhao Qiming, Ms. Sun Xiangli, Mr. Xia Jinbao, Ms. Ma Shumei, Ms. Yan Yaqin, Ms. Gu Yuelan, Mr. Yuan Fang, and Ms. Kong Fanxia were arrested on January 9, 2016. They were detained for 15 days in the Xuzhou Detention Center.

5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Fan Minxiang Died as a Result of Persecution a Year Ago

Mr. Fan Minxiang, a senior engineer, died in April 2014. He was subjected to forced labor for a year and was tortured in the labor camp. Before the labor camp, he was arrested five times and became destitute for a year to avoid arrest.

7. [Tianjin] Mr. Lu Zaizhi and His Wife Arrested

Mr. Lu Zaizhi and his wife were arrested and taken to the police station on January 25, 2016, for filing complaints against Jiang Zemin.

8. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Mr. Cong Zhongxiao Arrested

Mr. Cong Zhongxiao was arrested on his way to work on January 22, 2016. The police searched his home.

9. [Si County, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhang Cuiling Arrested

Ms. Zhang Cuiling was arrested on January 12, 2016, for filing a complaint against Jiang Zemin. She was released because the Suzhou City Detention Center did not admit her due to her high blood pressure.

10. [Tangshan, Hebei Province] Ms. Lu Yan Arrested

Ms. Lu Yan was arrested and taken to the Tangshan No. 1 Detention Centeron January 16, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin.

11. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Yang Guoguo, Mr. Zhang Xianwen, and Ms. Wang Dianhua were arrested on January 13, 2016. They are incarcerated in the Xinzhou City Detention Center.

12. [Zunyi City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Tian Maoqin and Ms. Li Suhui Arrested

Ms. Tian Maoqin and Ms. Li Suhui were arrested between January 20 and 21, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin.

13. [Dingxing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Yue Lingying and Ms. Zhang Huiying Arrested

Ms. Yue Lingying and Ms. Zhang Huiying were arrested on January 23, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin. They are being held in the Beihe Town Police Station.

14. [Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhou Meihua Arrested

Ms. Zhou Meihua and her husband were arrested on January 23, 2016. Her husband was released the next day. The police searched their home.

15. [Changsha, Hunan Province] Ms. Xia Qiangli Arrested

Ms. Xia Qiangli, 70s, was arrested on January 20, 2016, for distributing Falun Gong fliers. She was detained for five days in the Changsha City Detention Center.

16. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Guiling Arrested

Ms. Li Guiling was arrested on January 21, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin. Her whereabouts is unknown.

17. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Li Guihua and Ms. Sun Shilian Arrested

Ms. Li Guihua and Ms. Sun Shilian were arrested for defending Falun Gong in the Penpu Police Station on January 25, 2016. They were detained for five days in the Yujiahe Detention Center.

18. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yang Caiyun Arrested

Ms. Yang Caiyun was arrested on January 24, 2016, for passing out Falun Gong fliers. She is being held in the Xianan District Detention Center.

19. [Jiayu County, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Jingyou Arrested

Mr. Zhang Jingyou was arrested on January 10, 2016, for distributing Falun Gong fliers. He was detained for five days in the Jiayu County Detention Center.

20. [Houma City, Shanxi Province] Three Imprisoned Practitioners

Mr. Zuo Xiaodong of Houma City was sentenced to seven years. He was incarcerated for five years in Company 13, Jinzhong Prison.

Mr. Wang Zhongyuan of Quwo was sentenced to ten years. He was imprisoned for eight years in Company 6 in Jinzhong Prison.

Mr. Li Chenglong of Wenxi County was arrested in 2010 and sentenced to 13 years. His whereabouts is unknown.

21. [Fanzhi County, Shanxi Province] Additional Information Regarding Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Meiyun, Mr. Li Pingyu, Mr. Ren Hua, and Ms. Yang Junjun are being held in the Xinzhou Detention Center.

22. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Ms. Yong Xiaoqin Arrested

Ms. Yong Xiaoqin of Limin Village was arrested on January 14, 2016, by officers from the Wanshun Township Police Station. She was detained for five days. The officers extorted 100 yuan from her.
