Additional Persecution News from China – January 18, 2016 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 2 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Xu Mulan and Ms. Zhang Guizhu Sentenced to Prison

1. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Xu Mulan and Ms. Zhang Guizhu Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Xu Mulan, 72, was arrested on October 28, 2015. She was held in the Zhenjiang City Detention Center. Subsequently, she was sentenced to three years in prison by the Jingkou District Court. She was taken to the Nanjing Women's Prison on December 2, 2015.

Ms. Zhang Guizhu, 60, was also sentenced to prison.

2. [Ulan Hot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Huang Yazhi Arrested

Ms. Huang Yazhi was reported to police when distributing Falun Gong informational materials on the morning of January 17, 2016. She was arrested by officers from the Heping Police Station.

3. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Gao Lianhou and Mr. Li Renjie Detained

Mr. Gao Lianhou and Mr. Li Renjie were arrested by officers from the Liutun Police Station when talking about Falun Gong to people in Nanliutun Village (Taoci City) on January 16, 2016. Both practitioners are held in the Tangshan Detention Center.

4. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Lu Yan Arrested

Ms. Lu Yan from Liugezhuang Village in Hancheng Town was arrested by officers from the Hancheng Police Station on January 16, 2016. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to Tangshan.

5. [Chongqing] Ms. Han Xiaoping Arrested

Ms. Han Xiaoping from Beibei District was arrested by officers from the 110 Response Unit when talking to people about Falun Gong on January 14, 2016. Her home was ransacked.

6. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Guo Aiqin Detained

Ms. Guo Aiqin was arrested by officers from the Shuangyang Police Station, Zichuan District at noon on January 13, 2016. Her home was ransacked. She is held in a detention center.

7. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Two Practitioners Detained

Ms. Liu Yun and a female practitioner Pangjie from the Guchengzi area were arrested by officers from the Dongzhou Police Department when distributing Falun Gong informational materials at the Modigou Farm Market in the Xintun Residential District on January 13, 2016. Both practitioners are held in the Nangou Detention Center.

8. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Rong Changjun Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Rong Changjun was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center by officers from the Chaoyang District Domestic Security Division in January 2016. The officers told his family to send in 20,000 yuan in exchange for his “bail.”

9. [Wutaishan Scenic Area, Shanxi Province] Mr. Hu Youguang Arrested

Mr. Hu Youguang was arrested by officers from the Wutaishan Scenic Area Criminal Police Team, who waited outside his home, on January 14, 2016.

10. [Jiansanjiang, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Yanxiang Arrested

Ms. Li Yanxiang was arrested at home by the police on the afternoon of January 16, 2016.

11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Mr. Guo Yanxiang, Ms. Hao Wanling, and Ms. Liu were arrested by officers from the Jiutai City Police Department and the Shanghewan Town Police Station on the afternoon of January 13, 2016. They were taken to the police department for 15 days of detention.

12. [Shifang City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Zheng Shunrong, Ms. Chen Yangbi, and another practitioner were arrested by officers from the Yinghua Town Police Station when talking to people about Falun Gong in Yinghua Town on January 16, 2016. Ms. Zheng's home was ransacked. The three practitioners were to be held in the Shifang City Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

13. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Shihua Detained

Ms. Wang Shihua from Wazi Village, Luocun Town, Zichuan District was arrested by officers from the Luocun Police Station around January 14, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin. She was detained for 12 days in the Zichuan District Detention Center.
