Additional Persecution News from China – December 2, 2016 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 30 were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] More than 30 Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Qing Xiuying, Mr. Li Yeliang, and Ms. Xia Hong were arrested in January 2016 and tried on November 30.

According to insiders, more than 30 Falun Gong practitioners were arrested when they tried to attend the trial of three practitioners, including Ms. Wang Yanmei, Ms. Wang Shumei, Mr. Liu Zesheng, his daughter, a female practitioner Jiajia, Mr. Pang You (53 years old), Ms. Zhang Xiaoli (65 years old), Mr. Wang Kuizan (in 70s), Ms. Chen Guixia (in 60s), Ms. Xi Xiulan (in 70s), Ms. Zhao Tiefen (in 60s), Ms. Li Baofen (56 years old), Mr. Wang Zheng (in 40s), Mr. Li Wanqing (60 years old).

More than 50 officers were on hand to arrest the 30+ practitioners as they went through courthouse security check. It's unclear where they were taken.

2. [Liquan County, Shaanxi Province] Two Female Practitioners Detained

Female practitioners Xiaohong and Xiaoli were arrested by officers from the Chengguan Police Station on the evening of November 27, 2016 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Both practitioners were taken to the Liquan County Detention Center.

3. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Fan Baozhen and Ms. Chen Shouzhi Detained

Ms. Fan Baozhen was arrested by Du Zhao and other officers from the Domestic Security Division on the morning of November 14, 2016. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated over 30,000 yuan in cash.

The officers ransacked Ms. Chen Shouzhi's home that afternoon and confiscated a large number of printers, supplies and materials, and over 3,000 yuan in cash.

Both practitioners were taken to Huanggang No. 2 Detention Center.

Both practitioners were transferred to the Hubei Province Brainwashing Center on the morning of November 28, 2016.

4. [Duyun City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Zhou Yun and Ms. Liang Zhenglian Detained

Ms. Zhou Yun and Ms. Liang Zhenglian were arrested and their homes ransacked on November 2, 2016 for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were taken to the local detention center.

5. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Xu Gongmin, Ms. Sun Xiuqin, and Ms. Zhang Yu from Zhangguantun Village, Dulangkou Town, Chiping County, were arrested on the morning of November 28, 2016 by Bai Linyi, deputy head of the Chiping County Domestic Security Division, Zhang Chengli, party secretary from Dulangkou Town, and officers from the police station.

Ms. Sun was released that afternoon. The other two practitioners were taken to the Liaochang City Detention Center for 10 days of detention.

6. [Guanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Jiang Hehua Detained; Ms. He Lanjiao's Retirement Pay Suspended

Ms. Jiang Hehua from Sandu Village, Chidong Town, Qichun County, was recently arrested by officers from the Chidong Town Police Station for mailing letters containing information about Falun Gong. She was detained for 15 days.

Ms. He Lanjiao from Qichun County was told to write a guarantee statement by the Political and Legal Affairs Committee. Her retirement pay was suspended.

7. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Liu Mingjun and Ms. Chen Yulan Arrested

Mr. Liu Mingjun and Ms. Chen Yulan from Shehong County were arrested on the morning of November 17, 2016 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Mr. Liu was released. Ms. Chen remains in custody.

8. [Pingliang City, Gansu Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Si Yong and his son Mr. Si Guixue were arrested at home by officers from the Jingning County Police Department, court personnel, and Siqiao Township government officials on November 17, 2016.

Mr. Pei Weiwei was arrested by officers from the Chengguan Police Station on the afternoon of November 4, 2016. He was detained for 15 days.

9. [Beijing] Mr. Zhang Zengfu Taken into Custody

Mr. Zhang Zengfu was arrested by plainclothes officers on December 1, 2016 for distributing Falun Gong materials. He is held in the Case Handling and Law Enforcement Center of the Haidian District Police Department.

10. [Fushun, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Shouhui’s Sentence Upheld

Ms. Zhang Shouhui was arrested on April 24, 2015 for refusing to renounce Falun Gong. She was tried on May 18, 2016 and sentenced to 4 years in prison on July 11.

She filed an appeal to the Fushun Intermediate Court, but it was turned down.

This is not the first time that Ms. Zhang has been targeted for her faith. Prior to her latest arrest, she was arrested four times and twice given forced labor. She suffered brutal torture while in detention.

11. [Pucheng County, Fujian Province] Ms. Yin Shengmei’s Case Sent to Procuratorate

Ms. Yin Shengmei was arrested at the end of October 2016 when she was talking to people about Falun Gong. She was held at the Wuyishan Detention Center for seven days. She was released and is presently being monitored.

It is said that Ms. Yin's case was submitted to the Procuratorate on November 29. She is facing trial.

12. [Shizuishan City, Ningxia] Couple Sentenced

The Dawukou District Court sentenced Mr. Wang Desheng to 13 years’ imprisonment and his wife Ms. Shan Jining to 3 years in prison at the beginning of November 2016. Mr. Wang was fined 50,000 yuan, while Ms. Shan was fined 10,000 yuan.
