Additional Persecution News from China – December 1, 2016 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 19 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 13 were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Several Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Qing Xiuying, Mr. Li Yaliang, and Ms. Xia Hong were tried at the Tongzhou District Court on the morning of November 30, 2016. When Mr. Pang You and several other practitioners went to attend the trial they were arrested. Their whereabouts remain unknown.

2. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhu Qiuhua Detained

Ms. Zhu Qiuhua was recently arrested by three plainclothes officers from the Feixian Town Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong in Feixian Town, Guiyang County. She was taken to the Guiyang Detention Center for 10 days of detention. Ms. Zhu went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. She was released on November 28, 2016.

3. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Duan Huimin and Ms. Cao Yuhua Detained

Ms. Duan Huimin and Ms. Cao Yuhua were arrested when they talked to plainclothes officers about Falun Gong on the afternoon of November 29, 2016. Both practitioners were taken to the Jinzhou City Detention Center.

4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Ning Detained

Ms. Zhang Ning from Huanggu District was arrested at her door by officers from the Huanggu District Police Station on July 13, 2016. She is held in the Zaohua Detention Center.

5. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wan Pengwu Detained

Mr. Wan Pengwu from Cangnan Neighborhood was arrested by local plainclothes police officers on November 14, 2016 for teaching people the Falun Gong exercises. He is held in the Weifang Detention Center.

6. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Zilan and Ms. Sun Guangjun Arrested

Ms. Liu Zilan from Gushanzi Township, Chaoyang County, was arrested at home on November 9, 2016. She is held in a detention center. Ms. Sun Guangjun was also arrested on November 17, 2016.

7. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Xiumei Taken Into Custody

Ms. Wang Xiumei from Majuqiao Town, Tongzhou District, was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from the Majuqiao Police Station on November 30, 2016. She is held in the police station.

8. [Beijing] At Least Nine Practitioners Remain in Custody

Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, practitioners were arrested, detained, sent to forced labor camps, sentenced to prison, tortured, and otherwise mistreated; their homes were ransacked, or they died as a result of having their organs harvested.

Many practitioners from Fangshan District who were arrested by the Fangshan District 610 Office are still in custody, including Ms. Wang Hongmei, Ms. Wang Lei, Mr. Li Lanqing, Mr. Hu Qinggui, Mr. Liang Quan, Mr. Yin Jipu, Mr. Zhang Jiguo, Ms. Liu Fengxia, and Ms. Su Xiurong.

9. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Mr. Gan Jiangya and Ms. Guo Dongling Detained

Mr. Gan Jiangya and Ms. Guo Dongling from Kanjiang Office, Wuxue City, were arrested on November 24, 2016 for distributing Falun Gong materials. Both practitioners are held in the Wuxue Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

10. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Linying Detained

Mr. Zhang Linying was secretly transferred from the 721 Brainwashing Center to the Daqing City No. 2 Detention Center on November 22, 2016.

11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Bayilu Police Station arrested Ms. Wang Wenxiu, Ms. Wang Zhixia, and other practitioners on November 23, 2016. Ms. Wang Zhixia was detained for five days. The other practitioners were released.

12. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wu Yuping, Ms. Wang Ying, and Ms. Sun Yuelan from Yinzhou District were sentenced to prison on May 13, 2016.

The three practitioners appealed their sentences to the Tieling City Intermediate Court. The intermediate court upheld the original sentences on November 14, 2016.

Ms. Wu was sentenced to three years and six months in prison and fined 5,000 yuan. Ms. Wang was sentenced to three years and four months in prison and fined 4,000 yuan. Ms. Sun was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 3,000 yuan.

Ms. Sun is placed under surveillance because of her high blood pressure. She was forced to pay a 10,000 yuan bail. Ms. Wu and Ms. Wang remain in the Tieling Detention Center. Their families have not been allowed to visit them.

13. [Muling City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Gao Yuqin Mistreated in Prison

Ms. Gao Yuqin is held in the No. 11 Ward, Heilongjiang Women's Prison. She was beaten and kept in solitary confinement. Her entire body swelled up, and she is now deaf in her right ear. She has also suffered pulmonary congestion, heart abnormalities, high blood pressure, and gynecological inflammation.

The prison authorities told Ms. Gao to apply for a medical parole. But so far it is not clear if she will be released.

14. [Suizhong County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Dong Guixia on a Hunger Strike for More Than Four Months

Ms. Dong Guixia was transferred from the Huludao Detention Center to the Liaoning Women's Prison on November 29, 2016. She has been on a hunger strike for over four months. She is very weak, and suffers from heart and blood pressure abnormalities.

15. [Suizhong County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liang Guoxing and Wife Ms. Lu Huhua Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Liang Guoxing was given a one-year prison term. His wife Ms. Lu Yuhua was given a six-month prison term.
