(Minghui.org) A Baoqing County resident was seized by her hometown police moments after she was released from five years of imprisonment for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.

Ms. Liu Rangfang’s family has since lost contact with her, as the police have refused to disclose her whereabouts.

Ms. Liu was arrested on October 8, 2011 and sentenced to 5 years shortly afterwards. Her sister arrived at Harbin City Women’s Prison on November 11, 2016 to find Lu Jiang, chief of the police station in charge of Ms. Liu’s neighborhood in Baoqing, and his two officers there.

Lu warned the sister that Ms. Liu was considered a target because of her steadfast belief in Falun Gong, and that the police needed to keep a close eye on her.

The sister knew Lu from years ago when he arrested Ms. Liu on multiple occasions for her faith.

The prison staff processed both the sister’s and Lu’s applications to pick up Ms. Liu. One prison official commented that the sister should cooperate with Lu to have him take Ms. Liu with him.

Ms. Liu wrapped her arm around her sister’s shoulders as soon as she came out. She said to Lu, “I haven’t seen my sister for years and I’m going to stay with her for some time. I am now a free woman. You can’t take me away!”

Lu and his officers tried to pry Ms. Liu away from her sister, who refused to let go. Ms. Liu’s purse was broken during the tug-of-war. Lu eventually got a hold of Ms. Liu and shoved her into his cruiser.

He drove away, leaving the stunned sister behind. She hasn’t been able to see Ms. Liu or get any news about her since then.
