Additional Persecution News from China – October 28, 2016 (21 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 13 provinces. According to this report, 13 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 32 were illegally arrested.

1. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Liu Biying and Mr. Zeng Xianglin Taken to Armed Police Hospital

Ms. Liu Biying and Mr. Zeng Xianglin, employees at the Huafeng Machinery Plant, Xiaohe District, were physically abused. Both were in critical condition when taken to the No. 368 Armed Police Hospital.

2. [Bengbu City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhai Guiping Mistreated in Hefei Women's Prison

Ms. Zhai Guiping was detained in the No. 3 Ward of Hefei Women's Prison between April and October 2016. She was mistreated for holding onto her belief in Falun Gong. The guards deprived her of meals and sleep. She was forced to stand for an extended period of time and forced to do prison labor.

3. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Taken Into Police Custody

Ms. Tang Yunxia, Ms. Zhong Fangqiong, and Ms. Xiong Shuying were arrested by police officers and residential community security guards on the morning of October 26, 2016. They were taken to Taoxilu Police Station, Chenghua District.

4. [Tianjin] Lu Shulan and Ms. Li Arrested

Ms. Lu Shulan and Ms. Li were arrested and taken to Xianyangbeilu Police Station for distributing Falun Gong materials at the Tangjiawan Farmers Market, Hongqiao District, on the morning of October 27, 2016. Their whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhao Meizhen Detained

Ms. Zhao Meizhen, 80, was arrested at home by officers from Tielu Police Station on October 24, 2016. She was taken to Xinxiang City Detention Center.

6. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Yajie Arrested

Ms. Wang Yajie was arrested by local police when she talked to people about Falun Gong at the Zhaiku Town Farmers Market on the morning of October 26, 2016.

7. [Tianjin] Mr. Hua Lianyou on a Hunger Strike for 196 Days

Mr. Hua Lianyou from Beichen District has been on a hunger strike for 196 days. He was transferred to Binhai Prison on October 26, 2016. He is in critical condition.

8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Secretly Sentenced to Prison

Four practitioners from Xinfa Town, who had been continuously detained, were secretly sentenced to prison.

Mr. Zhu Qiangong, Ms. Liu Shuhua, and Ms. Gao Yulin were each sentenced to four years in prison, and Mr. Liu Qingfu to three years.

9. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Taken Into Police Custody

Ms. Liu Ying, Ms. Xu Guixia, and Mr. Su Dianxing from Hongwei District were arrested by officers from Gongchangling Police Department for talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of October 27, 2016. They are detained at the police department.

10. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Shufen and Ms. Wang Feng Arrested

Ms. Li Shufen and Ms. Wang Feng were arrested on October 23, 2016.

11. [Qixia City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Shuyun Arrested and Funds Extorted

Ms. Wang Shuyun, in her 70s, was arrested by Shewobo Town Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong on October 26, 2016. The police extorted 10,000 yuan from her family.

12. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Six Practitioners Arrested, Two Detained

Ms. Chen Zhongli was arrested by officers from Xinjiannanlu Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong on October 19, 2016. She was detained for 10 days in Datong City Detention Center.

Ms. Cui Yutao and four other practitioners were arrested by officers from Heng'an Police Department in the Datong Mining Area on the afternoon of October 25, 2016. Four practitioners have returned home. One was taken into custody.

13. [Lushan City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Shen Jinhong Detained

Ms. Shen Jinhong was arrested on October 18, 2016. She is held in Duchang County Detention Center. Family visits were denied.

Mr. Liu Quanxing from Shanzhou District was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of Shanzhou District Police Department on October 5, 2016. His home was ransacked. He is held in Shanzhou District Detention Center.

15. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Two Sisters Arrested

Ms. Ding Yanqing and her sister Ms. Ding Yanxia from the Liaohua area in Shuangtaizi District, were arrested at home on October 27, 2016. Their homes were ransacked. It is not known where they are being held.

17. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Guo Qunying and Ms. Wang Yuqin Arrested

Ms. Guo Qunying and Ms. Wang Yuqin from Chongzhou City were arrested by local police officers when they talked to people about Falun Gong on October 17, 2016. Their homes were ransacked. Ms. Wang was released that day. Ms. Guo was taken to Chongzhou City Detention Center.

18. [Xingning City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wen Qiuxiang Arrested

Ms. Wen Qiuxiang was arrested by domestic security officers on October 27, 2016. Her whereabouts are unknown.

19. [Yingde City, Guangdong Province] Five Practitioners Arrested, Four Detained

Ms. Tang Aiying, Ms. Wang Yuexiang, Mr. Zou Xiaopao, Mr. Luo Xiaowen, and A'rong (female), who were studying Falun Gong teachings, were arrested.

Ms. Tang suffered from serious physical discomfort that evening and was taken to a hospital. She was released two days later. The other four practitioners have been held in Yingde City Detention Center.

20. [Guilin City, Guangxi Province] Ms. Zheng Guoying and Ms. Meng Zhibin Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zheng Guoying and Ms. Meng Zhibin, who have been detained for nearly a year, were tried by Xiangshan District Court on July 22, 2016. Both practitioners were sentenced to two years in prison.

21. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced and Taken to Harbin Women's Prison

Ms. Fang Zhizhen from Wumahe District was given an eight-year prison term, and Ms. Li Cuiling was given a four-year prison term. Ms. Wang Yuying and Ms. Fu Yanhua were each given a two-and-a-half-year prison term.

The four practitioners were taken to Harbin Women's Prison on October 19, 2016.
