(Minghui.org) Mr. Wang Maojie, a teacher at Zhongxin Elementary School in Nonghe Town, Heilongjiang Province, was arrested by Captain Zhang Shiguo from Tonghe County Domestic Security on August 24, 2016. He was released on medical parole on September 1.
Captain Zhang continues to harass Mr. Wang and has submitted a case against him. The case is now with the Procuratorate, and is scheduled to go to court in two weeks.
Mr. Wang was arrested at work on August 24 by Zhang and several domestic security officers. He was taken to the Tonghe County Detention Center. The police charged Mr. Wang with forwarding images about the persecution of Falun Gong to his friends and publishing additional news on the Internet.
Officers then illegally searched his home and confiscated a calendar with facts about the persecution.
Zhang went to the detention center to interrogate Mr. Wang on August 25. Mr. Wang suddenly experienced cramping and fell down. He was taken to a small hospital in Tonghe County, where tests indicated it was the result of a traumatic brain injury.
Mr. Wang was later transferred to Tonghe County Central Hospital and continued cramping after his blood pressure increased.
Zhang interrogated Mr. Wang again on August 27. Afterwards, Mr. Wang's health continued to decline. He was released on medical parole on September 1.
Prior Arrests
Mr. Wang, 46, started to practice Falun Gong in 1996. He has been persecuted many times since 1999, the year Jiang Zemin's regime initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.
Mr. Wang was detained on July 22, 1999, because he refused to renounce his belief.
During the annual plenary sessions in 2000, Mr. Wang sued Jiang Zemin for persecuting Falun Gong. He was then fired from his teaching position.
Mr. Wang submitted a work request to Zhang Lizhong, secretary of the Tuanjie Village Communist Party, on January 13, 2001. In the request, Mr. Wang stated that he was mistreated because of his faith and requested that he either resume his job or be allowed to transfer.
Liu Jiecheng and Xia Limin from Nonghe Town Police Station then arrested him and detained him in Tonghe County Detention Center for 157 days.
During that time, he was once put in iron shackles typically worn by death row inmates; the shackles weighed about 53 pounds. Mr. Wang was often not allowed to sleep, and the guards encouraged other prisoners to beat him. On one occasion, a prisoner struck him on the hip with a white plastic tube until blood was visible on his shorts.
Mr. Wang worked in another town in 2011 but returned home to help with the fall harvest on October 26, 2011. Director Guo Daqi from Nonghe Town Police Station, along with Zhang Shiquo, Xia Limin, and others, arrested him. They beat him in the vehicle all they way from Tuanhe Village to Nonghe Town.
Mr. Wang was first taken to a detention center and later to a brainwashing center.
Mr. Wang was sent to work in a rural area elementary school, Shuangfeng, in 2003. He talked about the persecution of Falun Gong in class on December 15, 2004, by telling students they should follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, be kind to others, improve their moral standards, and think of others first. The school principal, Liu Guihua, reported him to Nonghe Town Police Station. Mr. Wang was arrested that evening.
