Additional Persecution News from China – October 22, 2016 (25 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 23 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 16 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 41 were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Mr. Wang Lianyi Arrested

Officers from the Yanqing District Domestic Security Division and Dayushu Police Station broke into Mr. Wang Lianyi's home and arrested him on the morning of October 20, 2016. The officers also attempted to arrest his wife, but did not succeed.

2. [Beijing] Mr. Yang Wenguang Held for Six Weeks

Ms. Qing Xiuying, her non-practitioner husband Mr. Yang Wenguang, and 16 other practitioners from Zhangjiawan Town were arrested by the Tongzhou District police on January 21, 2016.

Mr. Yang, in his 60s, is supportive of his wife who practices Falun Gong. One of his legs was amputated from injuries at work years ago. Mr. Yang was held in the Tongzhou Detention Center for a month. He was then taken to another location and held for 15 more days.

3. [Qian'an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Huang Shulan's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Huang Shulan, in her 60s, has been missing for three days. The door to her home was pried open and her Falun Gong books are missing.

4. [Da'an City, Jilin Province] Ms. Han Hongxia Detained

Ms. Han Hongxia was arrested at Mr. Wang Yi's home by Sui Yanlong and Mou Zijing, officers from the Da'an City Domestic Security Division; Song Youwen, director of the Anguang Town Police Station; and others on October 19, 2016. She was taken to the Baicheng Detention Center.

5. [Meihekou City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Qiao Jinsheng, Ms. Wang Yumei, and Ms. Huang Shufen, from Sancheng Town, were arrested on October 20, 2016.

Mr. Qiao is from Wulipu Village. Ms. Wang and Ms. Huang are from Dawan Village.

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Guo Yanxiang, a Shanghewan Central School teacher, was arrested at school by officers from the Shanghewan Town Police Station on the morning of October 20, 2016. Ms. Hao Wanling and Ms. Yin Yanfeng were also arrested. Mr. Guo was released at 9 p.m. that night.

7. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Huang Yuru and Ms. Geng Shuyan Arrested

Ms. Huang Yuru and Ms. Geng Shuyan were arrested by Shi Hailin and three other officers from the Yushu City Domestic Security Division on the morning of October 9, 2016. They have returned home.

8. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Jimei and Mr. Xiong Guangrong Detained

Ms. Zhang Jimei and Mr. Xiong Guangrong were reported on October 19, 2016 for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were arrested by officers from the Puwei Police Station. They were taken to the Miyi County Police Department by Li Xuesong and other officers from the Domestic Security Division. They were transferred to the Shuanggou Detention Center that evening.

9. [Ya'an City, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Four elderly practitioners, who were arrested in August 2015, received prison terms to be served outside prison. Mr. Hu Jiaqi, 76, received a four-year term; Ms. Gan Yulian, 75, four years; Ms. Wang Guangying, 79, three years; and Ms. Huang Xiuhua, 74, three years.

10. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Jifeng Taken to Jinan Women's Prison

Ms. Li Jifeng was sentenced to a five-and-a-half-year prison term and given a 25,000-yuan fine by the Boshan District Court in June 2016. She appealed. Zibo City Intermediate Court upheld Ms. Li's original sentencing. Ms. Li was taken to the Jinan Women's Prison.

11. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Sukun Detained

Officers from the Atuo Town Police Station in Changle County broke into the home of Ms. Li Sukun's younger sister on October 19, 2016. They arrested Ms. Li and took her to the police station. She was transferred to the Weifang Detention Center the following day.

12. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Qiaofeng Detained

Ms. Zhang Qiaofeng, 47, from Xiaogezhuang Village, Tuanwang Town, was arrested at home by the Laiyang police on the morning of October 19, 2016. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, two printers, and one box of calendars. Ms. Zhang is held in the Laiyang City Detention Center.

13. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Meilian and Ms. Zhan Yingxiang Detained

Ms. Gao Meilian and Ms. Zhan Yingxiang were held in the Laixi City Detention Center.

14. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Bian Pingge Sentenced to Prison and Fined

Ms. Bian Pingge was arrested on March 8, 2016, and tried by the Xiaodian District Court on August 10, 2016. She was given a seven-year prison term and fined 10,000 yuan on August 31, 2016.

15. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Xiao Wuqun Detained

Mr. Xiao Wuqun was arrested and taken to a detention center on October 20, 2016.

16. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Han Changgen Held for Over Six Months

Ms. Han Changgen, 60, and another practitioner were arrested on March 31, 2016, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were taken to the Tangshan No. 1 Detention Center, where they have been held for over six months. Ms. Han has developed symptoms of illness.

17. [Qinglong County, Hebei Province] Ms. Xiao Lianyin Detained

Ms. Xiao Lianyin from Tukanzi Village was arrested at her repair shop on October 20, 2016, by Li Yinqing, head of the Qinglong County Domestic Security Division; Lu Zhendong, deputy head; and two officers. She is being held in the Qinglong County Detention Center.

18. [Linhai City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Wu Sumei and Ms. Wu Suyue Sentenced to Prison and Fined

Ms. Wu Sumei was given a two-and-a-half-year prison term and fined 8,000 yuan by the Linhai City Court on October 11, 216. Ms. Wu Suyue was given a one-and-a-half-year prison term and was fined 5,000 yuan.

19. [Xiangyang City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Jie Arrested

Mr. Zhang Jie, in his 40s, is a teacher at Renmin Road Primary School. He was arrested at school by officers from the Migong Police Station on the morning of October 21, 2016. He was released after being interrogated.

20. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Ms. Luo Xianlian and Ms. Yan Qing'e Detained

Ms. Luo Xianlian and Ms. Yan Qing'e from Songbu Town were reported on October 16, 2016, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were arrested by officers from the Songbu Town Police Station and are held in the Macheng Detention Center.

21. [Chenxi County, Hunan Province] Ms. Peng Suhua Has Been Missing for Ten Years

Ms. Peng Suhua, an employee at the Yunjian Machinery Plant in Xiaoping Town, was arrested by the Chenxi police in July 2006. She has been missing for the past 10 years.

22. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Lu Min, Ms. Guo Surong, and Ms. Xue Guimei were arrested by officers from the Sihedang Police Station on the afternoon of October 21, 2016, for talking to people about Falun Gong in Wujiazi Village. They were taken to the Chaoyang Women's Detention Center by officers from the Lingyuan City Police Department.

23. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Shuhui and Ms. Wang Lihui Detained

Mr. Zhang Shuhui was arrested at home by Li Bin and other officers from the Dao'erdeng Police Station on October 12, 2016. He was taken to the Chaoyang Detention Center.

The officers arrested Mr. Wang Lihui the following day and took him to the Chaoyang Detention Center.

24. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Zhang Linying, an employee at the No. 2 Drilling Company of Daqing Oilfield, was arrested by two police officers on the morning of October 21, 2016.

Mr. Wang Xuejun, an employee at the Geological Brigade of the No. 10 Oil Production Plant, was arrested by Li Guocai, deputy head of the plant's 610 Office, at noon on October 12, 2016.

Mr. Zheng Xinwei, an employee at the No. 3 Oil Production Plant, was arrested by staff of the plant's Stability Maintenance Office on October 8, 2016.

The three practitioners were taken to the Daqing Brainwashing Center.

25. [Zhaozhou County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Xu Jinglin Arrested

Mr. Xu Jinglin was arrested at home by officers from the Jianshe Police Station on October 21, 2016.
