Additional Persecution News from China – September 13, 2016 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 9 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 27 were illegally arrested.

1. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Jinsheng Imprisoned

Mr. Zhang Jinsheng was tried four times between March and May this year. On June 14, the judge pronounced the sentence at Mr. Zhang's hospital bed that he was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison. Mr. Zhang was taken to the Jidong No. 4 Prison the next day and has been there since.

In February 2016, Mr. Zhang felt a sudden pain in his right hip and was unable to walk. The diagnosis given by the Hengshui City No. 3 People's Hospital was that he had bone tuberculosis. Mr. Zhang is now unable to control his lower limbs or walk.

Zhai Hongjun, an officer from the Gucheng County Domestic Security Division, and more than 20 local police officers climbed over the wall and entered Mr. Zhang's home in Gucheng County on August 21, 2015. They arrested him and took him to the Dongtian Hotel. He was put in an iron chair for three days. He was later taken to a detention center.

2. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Sun Liqin and Mr. Huo Xiliang Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Sun Liqin from the Ganyu District was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Ganyu District Police Department for telling people about Falun Gong over the Internet when she was working on an odd job in Shanghai in June 2015. She was sentenced to three years in prison after being held for nearly a year.

Mr. Huo Xiliang was arrested by officers from the Ganyu District Police Department and the Mazhan Police Station in Zhewang Town on September 15, 2015, for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist Party leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books and printed materials. Mr. Huo was sentenced to three years in prison in June 2016.

3. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Qiu Huandong Missing for 16 Years

Mr. Qiu Huandong, 39, a teacher at the Sijiazi Primary School in Hongqi Town, has been missing for 16 years. He was forced to leave home in 2000, when he was 23 years old. Since then, no one has heard anything about him or his whereabouts.

4. [Chongqing] Ms. Huang Zhiqun Arrested

Ms. Huang Zhiqun, in her 60s, from Duli Village, Zhonggulou Neighborhood, Wanzhou District, was reported when she talked to people about Falun Gong on the morning of July 26, 2016. She was arrested and taken to the Zhonggulou Police Station by more than twelve Wanzhou District patrol officers. They intimidated her, threatened her, forcibly searched her body and bag. They took written notes when they interrogated her. After she was released around 9 a.m. the officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, a computer, and other personal belongings.

The police arrested her again the following day. The also forcibly took her son to the station. Both mother and son were held in a dark room. Ms. Huang was held down in an iron chair. They pressed her fingers on an equipment to record her biological information. Four young men held her down and forcibly gave her a blood transfusion. Ms. Huang began to feel very uncomfortable in her eyes and stomach 20 minutes later, and could not think clearly.

5. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Liliang Detained

Mr. Wang Liliang was arrested and held in the Liujia Detention Center in the Pulandian District for suing Jiang Zemin.

6. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Guan Xiu Detained

Ms. Guan Xiu was arrested on September 8, 2016, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. She was taken to a detention center.

7. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Wang Yanhui Arrested

Ms. Wang Yanhui was arrested in late August 2016.

8. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ding Lihong Detained

Ms. Ding Lihong from Shuilongtai Area was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Qinglong County Police Department and the Mutoudeng Police Station on September 9, 2016. Her husband was told that she would be detained for 15 days.

9. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Fu Xiaolian and Son Mr. Fu Yue Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Fu Xiaolian and her son Mr. Fu Yue were arrested in mid-August 2016. When they asked, family and friends recently learned that both mother and son are held in a brainwashing center.

10. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Sun Kun Arrested

Mr. Sun Kun was arrested on September 11, 2016, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials.

11. [Xiaogan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Huang Xuejun and Mr. Wang Huashan Detained

Mr. Huang Xuejun and Mr. Wang Huashan went to visit Ms. Sun Youlan, in her 70s, in Etou Village, Tangdi Town, Anlu City, on the afternoon of September 10, 2016. The two practitioners were arrested on their way back by officers from the Tangdi Police Station. Both are being held in the Anlu City Detention Center.

Zhou Honghai, an officer from the Anlu City Domestic Security Division, and two officers from the Tangdi Police Station went to Ms. Sun Youlan's home and ransacked it in the evening. They confiscated Falun Gong books, a printer, a computer, and other personal belongings.

12. [Tianjin] Mr. Wang Zhongjie Arrested

Mr. Wang Zhongjie was arrested in late August 2016. His home was ransacked.

13. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Li Shouqing Arrested

Mr. Li Shouqing was arrested by officers from the Sipailou Police Station when she waited at the Dongwu Road Bus Station at noon on September 8, 2016.

14. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhou Jiaqi's Home Ransacked

Nine people, from the No. 10 Team, Youai Town, Pi County, ransacked Ms. Zhou Jiaqi's home on the morning of July 20, 2016. They confiscated Falun Gong books, three recorders, and about 60 yuan in cash. Ms. Zhou was not at home at that time.

15. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Police Attempted to Arrest Numerous Practitioners

More than a dozen Falun Gong practitioners were arrested or harassed since August 31, 2016.

Those who were arrested or harassed are: Ms. Li Chunfeng, Mr. Meng Guangzhou, Ms. Pang Yuhong, Mr. Li Guomin, Mr. Cui Jiandong, Ms. Yuan Xiaoying, Ms. Chen Yuqin, Ms. Yin Guilian, Ms. Huang Xueling, Ms. Tong Suping, Ms. Shao Yueling, Mr. Liu Dehai, Ms. Zhai Suping, Ms. Xiao Yulan, Mr. Pang Haijiang, Ms. Chang Yuzhou, and Mr. Guo Haizhong.

The arrested practitioners are being held at the Qinglong County Detention Center.
