(Minghui.org) Encouraged by fellow practitioners, we started participating in a project to make phone calls to explain the truth about Falun Dafa to local people in 2006. We understood that our goal was to save as many sentient beings as possible.
Due to our attachment of fear, we didn’t initially achieve the results we had expected. We started to study the Fa together and shared our experiences clarifying the truth. With Master's compassionate reinforcement and blessings, our attachment of fear was gradually removed and our righteous thoughts were strengthened.
We eventually assembled the information we were going to tell people into a more standardized order. We started with the 270 million-year-old “hidden words stone” in Guizhou Province that bears the words the “Chinese Communist Party Collapses.” We would then explain the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and tell about all the people that were quitting the CCP. Lastly we mentioned the lawsuits that people around the world are filing against former CCP leader Jiang Zemin, who launched and directed the persecution of Falun Gong in China.
Following these steps, we were pleased to find that the number of people who agreed to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations went up dramatically. In one day one practitioner could help three, five, or a dozen people quit, and later even more than 20 people.
We realized that the more we studied the Fa, the more righteous thoughts we would have in our minds and consequently the more success we would have.
Over eight years we have persuaded tens of thousands of people to quit the CCP. As long as we have picked up our phones to clarify the truth to people, we have been able to ensure that people were saved by following our advice to quit the CCP. We have saved time and money as the success rate grew and reduced the resources we spent on phone calls.
Here are a few stories of how we told people the truth via phone calls.
A middle-aged man answered one of my calls, and I gave him a brief introduction to the truth about Falun Dafa. He quickly told me he would like me to call back in the evening when he was off work.
That night we spoke again. He listened carefully as I told him the facts. In the end he asked me to help him and his wife quit the CCP because they were both CCP members. I said I would be very happy to but that I would have to get his wife’s permission. I then heard his wife’s voice clearly on the other end, “Would you please help me quit the CCP with a pseudonym?”
On another occasion, the man I called cursed and shouted at me before I could finish. Instead of hanging up, I remained calm and patient. I said, “I am not angry with you because I really want you to have a bright future.”
“You're not upset?” he asked. I told him I was a Falun Dafa practitioner who followed Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, so I tried to accept everything that happened to me. “As long as you can understand the truth and be saved, I will be very happy for you,” I said sincerely.
He told me he was a member of the Youth League and wanted my help to quit with a pseudonym. He then asked, “Will you please help a friend of mine do the same?” I agreed and wrote down his friend’s telephone number.
I learned that a policeman from a certain police department had played an active part in arresting and persecuting Dafa disciples after the persecution of Falun Gong began, so I decided to call him from time to time. When he answered my first call, he shouted, “Do you dare come to my office and speak to me face-to-face?” I was not provoked. I stayed calm and continued to talk to him patiently.
He was less angry each time I called. During our last conversation, I confessed that I felt terribly sorry for him because he had arrested so many good people and would not have a good future. I told him that it was still not too late as long as he immediately stopped arresting good people. He thanked me for my good intentions and said, “I know what to do and who you are now!”
I then told him about my wonderful experiences of being a Dafa practitioner with him: “Years ago, I had to go to see doctors and take medicine all the time because I had several ailments. Through practicing Falun Gong, my health dramatically improved and my hot temper changed as well. I can now restrain myself when I encounter verbal or physical abuse.” He cut in, “I believe 99 percent of Falun Gong practitioners are really good people.”
We have made many phone calls to police departments, police stations, courts, and other judicial departments.
An officer from a police station was furious when he got my call. He threatened me as I started to clarify the truth to him. I patiently informed him that more than 6,000 police officers in China had lost their lives due to following Jiang Zemin's persecution of Falun Gong.
“You see, you have no future,” I said. “Does it really make sense, even if you had loads of money and were a high ranking official?” The young officer answered, “Definitely not! Would you please help me renounce the evil CCP?”
On many occasions people called us back after missing our calls. We took it as a precious opportunity to explain the truth to these sentient beings.
When I got a call from a director of an organization, I reminded him that there were thousands of people withdrawing from the CCP every day, and he asked me if I could help him to quit the CCP because he was a member.
When I promised to help, I could sense his obvious relief, as if a huge weight had been lifted from him. I became aware that all sentient beings were actually waiting and hoping to learn the truth. As Dafa disciples, we have shouldered great responsibilities to let the truth be known to the whole world. If we remain silent, we will fail to live up to our vow to our revered Master and to the sentient beings.
In keeping up with the Fa-rectification, we know that the ways to tell people the facts about Falun Dafa are changing. We realized that talking to people in person turned out to be a better approach than making phone calls, because we can reach and save many more people.
We adopted a practice of pairing two practitioners together to visit every household inside and outside our village. We explained the facts to the people we visited and advised them not only to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations but also to sign petitions to sue Jiang Zemin for launching the persecution of Falun Gong.
Sometimes nobody was home when we visited, so we would go again the next day. We seized every opportunity to clarify the truth face-to-face in the hope that they could be saved from a future disaster.
