Falun Gong Group Calls for End to Persecution during UN General Assembly

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in New York gathered in front the United Nations Headquarters during the 71^st Session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly on September 18-24, 2016, to call for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong in China.

Falun Gong practitioners call for justice against Jiang Zemin and an end to the persecution in front of the United Nations Headquarters.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang attended the assembly on September 18-21. Falun Gong practitioners petitioned on the street corners around Li's hotel, The Waldorf Astoria New York, day and night for four days. Practitioners distributed flyers and displayed banners that read,“Falun Dafa Is Good” “Bring Jiang to Justice” and “Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong.”

During the event, many New Yorkers stopped to sign a petition supporting Falun Gong.

New York Post Report on Organ Harvesting in China

A New York Post report titled “The Grim Reality of Human Organ Harvesting in China,” was published on September 20 and was one of the most popular reports on its website for many days.

The report pointed out, “No one is safe under the Communist Party’s regime, but practitioners of Falun Gong — a spiritual meditation based on the guiding principles of 'truth, compassion and tolerance' — are the main targets.”

The report cites the independent investigation report of two Canadian lawyers, David Kilgour and David Matas. “'The (Communist Party) says the total number of legal transplants is about 10,000 per year. But we can easily surpass the official Chinese figure just by looking at the two or three biggest hospitals,' Matas said in a statement.”

Organ Harvesting Condemned by the Public

A woman who passed by told Falun Gong practitioners, “If such a thing could happen to you, it could happen to anyone. It upsets me that the UN and American government have been so slow to take action. Keep up the great work!”

A UN official and a reporter from Saudi Arabia talked to a Falun Gong practitioner Dorian for a long time. They realized how serious it was and planned to report about it in Saudi Arabia.

A Russian gentleman said, “The Chinese Communist Party is evil! I hope it will collapse soon!”

An Indian was on his way to see the Indian Ambassador. He said he would bring a flyer about organ harvesting to the Ambassador.

A passerby named Kimberly said, “We have been so focused on the presidential election that we're overlooking what's really happening in the world. I'm very shocked to hear about this (organ harvesting).”

New York resident Brian said he resonated with Falun Gong's principles of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance. He planned to help practitioners spread the word about the persecution.

Another local resident, Alexandre, said truthfulness and compassion were good for people and their countries. Any government should support and help them.
