(Minghui.org) I was illegally arrested in July 2015 because I filed a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin. My house was ransacked and I was detained for 15 days. The police called me in December and asked me to come get the items they took from my home: my PC, printer, DVD burners, and other accessories.
Suing Jiang Zemin
In April 2015 I heard that practitioners were suing Jiang Zemin for his role in persecuting Falun Gong. I was very happy that we finally reached this stage after being persecuted for 16 years.
At first I thought that I hadn't been persecuted physically and that suing Jiang Zemin did not have much to do with me. Later when I studied “Fa Teaching Given at the 2015 New York Fa Conference,” I came to a better understanding.
Master said:
“Indeed, it should be sued (enthusiastic applause from the disciples); all of humanity should sue it. It has harmed all Chinese people, as well as many people in other regions all over the world. So many people are going to be dragged into Hell because of its lies.”
I realized I still had the attachment of fear. Master already explained the Fa to this extent, so I just needed to follow it.
I submitted my criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin via express mail at the post office. Two days later I received a receipt from Supreme Procuratorate of China.
Arrest and Detention
In July, Domestic Security Division police broke into my home and ransacked it. They had the criminal complaints I sent. They handcuffed me and took me to the police station. I refused to cooperate with them.
“It does not matter whether you talk to us or not, or if sign the document or not,” they said. “You sued Jiang Zemin, so we will detain you and use what we do to you as an example to warn others. You can sue us if you want.”
They were very fierce and handcuffed my hands behind my back.
Yet I was very calm when I got to the detention center. I remembered Master's teaching:
“No matter what the situation, do not cooperate with the evil’s demands, orders, or what it instigates. If everyone does this the environment won’t be this way.” (“Dafa Disciples’ Righteous Thoughts are Powerful” from Essentials for Further Advancement II)
I refused to sign any documents, to wear the inmate uniform, to answer any roll calls, or to sit as a punishment. When the guard talked to me, I explained how Falun Gong is being unjustly persecuted. He said, “We often receive phone calls or text messages from Falun Gong practitioners. I know about this.” This was the only time the guards bothered me while I was detained.
One inmate, who had been jailed for nine years, told me that in 2000 the guards would brutally beat any Falun Gong practitioner, whether they were in a detention center or a prison. He saw a guard hang a Falun Gong practitioner up on a basketball hoop to be exposed in the baking sun. Later that practitioner died. He said that now, however, things have changed, and the guards no longer bother Falun Gong practitioners. He said, “Falun Gong practitioners receive the best treatment here.”
I thought that since I was here, I should not waste the opportunity. I looked inward for my own attachments. I told the inmates in my cell about the persecution of Falun Gong, and explained why it's urgent to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. Fourteen people quit the Party, while five had never joined any CCP organizations. I told them to remember “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” They often repeated those words.
Coordinate as One to Save More People
I met a fellow practitioner who was also detained. After I was released, through him, I joined a group of Falun Gong practitioners. I practiced alone before, and I did not know any fellow practitioners. One day we had a small experience sharing. We agreed that:
- We cannot stop doing the three things. We must reach out to people who used to practice Falun Gong.
- We need to encourage more practitioners to sue Jiang Zemin and encourage non-practitioners to support the lawsuits.
- We should talk to local government officials and related organizations via text messages and multimedia messaging, telling them about how Falun Gong is being unjustly persecuted.
- We should encourage those practitioners who were persecuted to write letters or call police to advise them to be good, and help them come to know that Falun Gong is being persecuted.
Police Take Initiative to Return Confiscated Items
The policeman who handcuffed me during the arrest later phoned me in December and asked me to come to the police department to get the items they had taken from me. When I met him, he had a big smile on his face. I told him that it was not easy for either of us and that we should understand each other. I could tell he was touched. He wanted to help me with my things, and he acted like a totally different person than he had several months ago.
I never expected the officers to return my PC. I used it to make materials for telling people about the persecution. Falun Gong practitioners do not have enemies. They've taken the initiative to return my PC and to atone for their crime. I am so happy for them!
No Time to Wait
The situation is changing very rapidly. The number of the people who've quit CCP or its affiliated organization has increased. Some practitioners in our area are openly doing the exercises outside.
Fellow practitioners, if you have not sued Jiang, you should hurry up. The police have stopped interfering, and the mail is not intercepted. Even our confiscated items are now returned. Can you still not take the step forward?
Finally, I want to share Master's words with fellow practitioners:
