Additional Persecution News from China – December 20, 2015 (Part I, 18 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 38 cities or counties in 15 provinces. According to this report, 80 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 48 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Yangquan City, Shanxi Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Wang Bingde was sentenced to four years in prison, and Ms. Shi Chunping to three and a half years. Mr. Zhang Jianyong and his wife Ms. Wang Yuhong were each sentenced to four years in prison.

2. [Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Lou Gui'an Officially Placed Under Arrest

Officers from the Xinjian Town Domestic Security Division, the 610 Office, and the police station broke into Mr. Lou Gui'an's home on the morning of November 11, 2015. They arrested him and his daughter, Ms. Lou Weili. Ms. Lou was held for 15 days in a detention center before being released. Mr. Lou was held in the Jinyun Detention Center. Ms. Lou received a notification on December 18, 2015, that Mr. Lou had been officially placed under arrest.

3. [Beijing] Ms. Yang Shunmei Tried

Ms. Yang Shunmei was tried at the Haidian District Court on December 16, 2015. The attorney entered a plea of not guilty for her. Ms. Yang also entered a not guilty self defense plea. The court session was hastily adjourned.

4. [Qinyang City, Henan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Zhao Qiufeng was arrested by officers from the Qinyang City 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division on December 1, 2015, after he sued Jiang Zemin. His wife, Ms. Ren Quanyun, went to the police station demanding her husband's release, and was also arrested. She is being detained in the Boai County Detention Center.

Ms. Li Yurong was arrested on December 9, 2015, for suing Jiang Zemin.

5. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Cheng Xiantang Harassed

Officers from the Yinzhu Police Station and Jiaonan Neighborhood Administration, of the Huangdao District, have repeatedly showed up recently at Mr. Cheng Xiantang's home for harassment. They also made several phone calls telling Mr. Cheng to come to the police station and give them information about the lawsuit he filed against Jiang Zemin.

6. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Zhang Daming and Wife Ms. Chen Xiufang Harassed

Elderly Mr. Zhang Daming and his wife Ms. Chen Xiufang were harassed at home on the morning of September 23, 2015 by officers from the Jiankanglu Police Station, for suing Jiang Zemin. The officers confiscated Falun Dafa books. Ms. Chen was taken to the police station to be fingerprinted and to answer questions, which the officers recorded. The elderly couple was harassed many times between mid-October and the end of October 2015.

7. [Fuyu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Ma Shouwen Harassed

Officers from the Caijiagou Town Police Station broke into the home of Mr. Ma Shouwen's younger son on the morning of December 18, 2015. They asked about Mr. Ma's lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. They threatened to take Mr. Ma to a brainwashing center, and forced him to sign a blank sheet of paper. Because Mr. Ma was bedridden, he was not taken to the brainwashing center.

8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Pei Tingjiu and Mr. Wang Yongjiu Arrested

Mr. Pei Tingjiu from Rongsheng Village, Handian Town was arrested at home by officers from the Shuangcheng District Police Department and the Handian Police Station at 7:00 p.m. on December 17, 2015. The officers confiscated a notebook computer, two cell phones, and two USB drives. Mr. Pei is being held in the Shuangcheng Detention Center.

Mr. Wang Yongjiu from Liujia Village was also arrested the same day.

9. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Yang Xiangfang Became Displaced

Ms. Yang Xiangfang, 67, was harassed at home by Ouyang Hongtao and other personnel from the Boxuelu Neighborhood Administration Office in Jinshui District at 11:00 a.m. on December 11, 2015. Officers from the Boxuelu Police Station ransacked her home at 4:30 p.m. that day. They asked Ms. Yang to go to the police station. Ms. Yang escaped, and has been able to return home. Her husband cannot take care himself.

10. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhou Jinba Arrested

Two plainclothes officers from the Domestic Security Division, along with Ji Huitian from the Zhihe Town 610 Office, and six or seven officers from the Guangming Police Station, ransacked Mr. Zhou Jinba's home on the afternoon of December 18, 2015. One plainclothes officer and Ji Huitian struck Mr. Zhou on his forehead.

Mr. Zhou was taken to the police station at around 3:30 p.m., and was released after 5:00 p.m. that day.

11. [Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Pang Yunfeng Harassed

Officers from the Baita Township Police Station led by director Li broke into Mr. Pang Yunfeng's home in Laobian Village on November 10, 2015. Mr. Pang was not home at the time. The officers confiscated a photo of the founder of Falun Gong, and printed materials.

Mr. Pang went to the police station the following day to ask for the photo. The officers attempted to force him to sign a guarantee statement renouncing Falun Gong, but Mr. Pang refused.

The officers took Mr. Pang to the Xingcheng City Police Department and then to a hospital for a physical exam. He was then taken to a detention center even though he had a serious heart condition. The detention center saw the exam results and refused to admit Mr. Pang. He was released and returned home.

Ten days later, director Li went to Mr. Pang's home again, to harass him. Mr. Pang was not home at the time. Li forced Mr. Pang's mother to sign a statement saying that he had renounced Falun Gong.

Li staked-out officers in front of Mr. Pang's home every day, to monitor him. Mr. Pang was not able to return home.

12. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Zhitao Arrested

Mr. Liu Zhitao from Xizhaotuan Village, which is subordinate to the Guliu Neighborhood Administration Office, was arrested at his own store by officers from the Guliu Neighborhood Administration Office Police Station on the morning of December 18, 2015.

13. [Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province] More Than Thirty Practitioners Arrested and Detained—Many Practitioners Harassed

Officers from the Fuyu County 610 Office, the police department, the Domestic Security Division, and various police stations harassed practitioners in Fuyu County and subordinate townships between November 30 and December 15, 2015, for suing Jiang Zemin. More than 30 practitioners were arrested. The practitioners were held in the Fuyu County Detention Center. The length of detention ranged from 10 to 15 days. Several of them were harassed and threatened.

Below is the list of practitioners who are detained:Ms. Wang Ying, Ms. Tong Yajuan, Ms. Li Guiqin, Ms. Jiang Guoying, Ms. Li Xia, Ms. Zhao Wenqing, Ms. Zhao Wenqin, Ms. Zhang Qiaofeng, Ms. Wu Shujie, Ms. Guo Lianhua, Ms. Zhou Liqiang, Ms. Jiang Lixia, Ms. Song Aiyun, Ms. Ju Yanhui, Ms. Lu Guiyun, Ms. Wang Yongjuan, Ms. Zhang Qing, Ms. Wang Lixia, Mr. Wu Yuhua, Mr. Li Jiwang, Mr. Wang Beiqing, Mr. Zhao Xinghai, Mr. Wang Dewei, Mr. Zou Wenfu, Mr. Zhao Zhongwu, and Mr. Jiang Haibo.

In addition, the following practitioners have been released from detention:Ms. Zhou Yazhi, Ms. Li Yan, Ms. Wang Xianzhi, Ms. Lu Yanfang, Ms. Wu Xiulan, Ms. Tao Hua, Ms. Mou Xiujie, Mr. Meng Zhaoshan, Mr. Tian Gang, Mr. Wu Peidong, and Mr. Wu Yuguo.

14. [Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xia Lingmei Detained

Ms. Xia Lingmei from Shanting District was arrested by officers from the Shancheng Police Station in Shanting District on December 11, 2015. She is being held in the Xuecheng Detention Center.

15. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Yuzhen and Mr. Li Pujun Detained

Ms. Zhang Yuzhen from Huangdao District was arrested at home by officers from the Zhushan Police Station on the morning of December 15, 2015. She was detained for ten days.

Mr. Li Pujun from Huangdao District was arrested at work by police on the afternoon of December 10, 2015. He was detained for ten days.

16. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Kai Sentenced to Prison

The original three-and-a-half-year prison term against Mr. Li Kai was upheld during a second trial, with no court hearing.

17. [Beijing] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Zhou Fei, Mr. Ye Xiaodong, Ms. Xie Wenjuan, Ms. Gao Wenjing, and Mr. Wang Liangjun were arrested on December 10, 2015. The police ransacked Ms. Zhou Fei's home, and confiscated printed materials and other belongings.

Mr. Ye Xiaodong was released for health reasons. The other four practitioners were placed in the Beijing No. 1 Detention Center on December 13, 2015, for refusing to renounce Falun Gong.

18. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Three Practitioners Detained

The Futian Police Station charged Mr. Huang Tianwei, Ms. Lin Ju, and Mr. Xiang Weichang with “inciting subversion of state power.” They were placed in criminal detention on the morning of December 12, 2015. The three practitioners are being held in the Futian Detention Center.
