(Minghui.org) I began to practice Falun Gong in 2000. With Master's protection and the help of other practitioners, I have resolutely walked my path. I sincerely thank Master for his compassionate protection.
I Had the Good Fortune to Encounter Falun Gong
I was not a practitioner when Falun Gong was banned in China on July 20, 1999, but I got myself into trouble because I said out loud, "The communist party is jealous of Falun Gong because of its popularity. Falun Gong is good, and should therefore be allowed."
I was suspected to be a Falun Gong practitioner and questioned by my director. I told him that I might practice Falun Gong after I retire. Political movements like the disastrous Cultural Revolution were often proven to be wrong after the fact.
After that I often ran into practitioners. They would tell me about goodness of the practice and the wonderful way it improved one's health. That persuaded me to try the practice, as I was about to have a gallstone operation. I was bothered by other illnesses, to name a few: chronic abnormal digestive condition, displaced kidneys, neck pain, shoulder pain, and a herniated disc in my back.
The night I read Zhuan Falun, I slept very well. Within two months after I began the practice, all my illnesses disappeared. My complexion improved and my body felt light. I have not taken a single pill in the last 15 years. I look younger. I truly thank Master for saving me.
Since I gained so much from the practice, I wanted to share Master's compassion with others. I joined other practitioners when they clarified the truth, going out to tell people about the practice and the persecution.
I always kept Master's words in mind:
“The old forces don't dare to oppose our clarifying the truth or saving sentient beings. What's key is to not let them take advantage of the gaps in your state of mind when you do things.” (Teaching the Fa at the Conference II, Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston)
A Shopper in His 60s
One day I met a man in his 60s carrying a bag of rice. I asked him about the price of the rice. We chatted about fraudulent products in the market, from counterfeit liquor, to tainted baby formula and rice. He was engaged in the conversation, so I talked more about moral corruption and the persecution of Falun Gong. I told him about the suspicious aspects of the self-immolation incident and how they clearly indicated that the whole thing was staged.
He agreed with my points, so I asked him to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliates for his own safety. He agreed.
Head of a Women's Affairs Committee
Once when I passed by the local market, a woman's basket scratched me. In a friendly and joking way, I said, “You may have injured me. If I go to the hospital for a CT scan, it would cost you 400 yuan.”
We talked about how expensive hospital bills were. I told her a story of how a woman's illness disappeared shortly after beginning to practice Falun Gong, even though the expensive medical treatments they tried before that had failed. I told her that Falun Gong was very popular before the persecution began.
Through our conversation, I learned that she was the head of the Women's Affairs Committee in her village, and I wanted to wash out the atheism in her mind. I told her that many high-level CCP officials would go to a temple to pray but did not let others believe in Buddhas or gods.
I explained to her that, even though we had just met, I simply wished for her to have a good life. I hoped that she would withdraw from the CCP to save herself. She agreed to and expressed her gratitude.
Two Medical Students
I ran into two medical school students in a park and tried to tell them about the persecution. They told me that they did not believe it. I realized that I had to adjust my strategy to open their hearts.
I told them that people who believed in gods and Buddhas gained many benefits. I told them about how I had regained my health after I began to practice Falun Gong, and how I have retained my health without medication for the past 15 years. They were impressed.
I told them to treasure their lives, and that believing that “Falun Dafa is good” would bring them good fortune. Withdrawing from the CCP and its affiliates would keep them safe during a catastrophe. They both agreed to withdraw from the Communist Youth League and Young Pioneers.
When I was in line with the Fa as I clarified the truth to people, Master would guide people to me. I would also be full of wisdom and find the right things to say.
I will continue to study the Fa well and with a calm mind, and always look within so that I would cultivate well and save more sentient beings.
