(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Kemin and his family filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) , who launched the persecution of Falun Gong.
Mr. Zhang lives in Hebeiwopo Village of Wanjia Town, Pingdu, Shandong Province.
Du Ruihua, director of the Wanjiaa Appeals Office and other Pingdu officials went to Mr. Zhang's home on the afternoon of August 3, 2015.
They tried to intimidate the family. With them, they had the criminal complaint that Mr. Zhang's family had submitted to the Supreme People's Procuratorate a month prior.
An officer from the Pingdu Police Department asked if Mr. Zhang's daughter practiced Falun Gong. Mr. Zhang replied that his entire family practices. He said that his daughter's grades improved greatly after she began the practice.
Du Ruihua asked Mr. Zhang's daughter if she did indeed practice.
She said yes. She picked up a Falun Gong informational calendar on the table and showed it to Du. She told Du that Falun Gong is freely practiced throughout the world.
Interrogated and Handcuffed
The officer from the Pingdu Police Department called the local police station when he saw a computer and printer in Mr. Zhang's home. Three officers from the station came and confiscated the computer, printer, Falun Gong books and many more items.
They arrested Mr. Zhang and took him to the police station. Mr. Zhang explained the the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong and that many people have quit the CCP and its affiliated organization.
The officers interrogated him and cuffed him to a chair.
Agents from the 610 Office arrived around 9:00 p.m. One agent asked him for information about his contacts. Another agent turned on the computer and demanded that he answer all questions as if Mr. Zhang was giving a deposition during a legal proceeding.
“Speaking of legality, who are you?” Mr. Zhang asked.
The agent answered that he was from the Pingdu Police Department. Mr. Zhang asked to see his badge, which the agent refused to do.
The agent asked him why he practiced Falun Gong. He told him that he had many ailments and regained his health as a result of the practice. After the interrogation, the agent asked him to check the transcript of his statements.
“It says here that you showed me your badge, but you didn't. You are lying,” said Mr. Zhang. The agent agreed to delete the statement.
Then three more agents arrived. Mr. Zhang asked them if they were CCP members.
“Quit the CCP if you are. The Supreme People's Procuratorate has accepted my criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin,” he said. “Li Dongsheng, the head of the 610 Office was arrested. What are you guys going to do when you have to face justice for being a part of this?”
Mr. Zhang was released at 11:30 p.m.
