(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners held a rally in downtown Vancouver to support the movement by practitioners and their families in filing lawsuits against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin. The event on September 13, 2015 received a strong response from people. Over one thousand signed the petition supporting the lawsuits. Sixteen years ago Jiang and his regime launched the persecution of Falun Gong in China, which has caused pain and suffering for millions of practitioners and their families.

Huang believes that suing Jiang provides justice for mankind.

Huang, a passerby at the rally, said that Falun Gong helps to preserve traditional Chinese culture, much of which has been lost because of the impact of modern science. The Chinese regime has persecuted these good people and even kills them for their organs. “This severely undermines basic human rights, justice, and conscience,” said Huang.

Huang felt sorry that there were many countries and people refusing to support Falun Gong practitioners due to financial ties with China. He wanted to support the actions of the practitioners because he felt that it wasn't just the practitioners' business, but everyone's. “It's a battle between good and evil, and justice will eventually be served,” said Huang.

The activities drew the attention of Wang, an overseas Chinese citizen. He signed the petition after talking to one of the practitioners. “In this material world, people don't care much about belief. The practitioners' actions are valuable,” said Wang. He said that it was an exciting movement because Jiang had committed many crimes, and should pay for them.

Steven Cook was impressed by the practitioners' activities.

Steven Cook from Brazil heard about Falun Gong for the first time at the rally. He was in disbelief as he learned about the brutal persecution. He signed the petition to show his support and thanked the practitioners for the information. He was impressed by the rally, and thought it was an effective way of making more people be aware of the issue.

Vancouver local Nariman knew about the persecution, but didn't know that Jiang was the chief culprit who launched it 16 years ago. He agreed that Jiang should be held legally responsible and punished.
