(Minghui.org) A total of 5,063 Falun Gong practitioners from Baoding City, Hebei Province, have filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin between May and August 20, 2015, according to reports compiled by the Minghui website.

The practitioners charge the former Chinese dictator with initiating the brutal suppression of Falun Gong and hold him responsible for the tremendous suffering inflicted upon them by his campaign. The criminal complaints were mailed to the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate.

Many of these practitioners recounted how Falun Gong returned them to health and gave them a new outlook on life. Their dream to live a healthier and happier life, however, was shattered when Jiang Zemin launched a nationwide campaign to eradicate the practice in 1999.

Simply for refusing to give up their belief, they were arrested, detained, tortured, and had their homes ransacked and personal belongings seized. Many also saw their families implicated for their belief, while some were also forced to pay huge fines.

Seven Plaintiffs Profiled

Ms. Zhai Fengjun (翟风菊), 51, is a farmer. When she was arrested in February 2005, four police officers beat her with wooden batons until they broke. Her left wrist was dislocated, and her left hand became swollen. Her right hand bled profusely. She was covered in bruises. An officer later shocked her with an electric baton during an interrogation. She was held in Balizhuang Forced Labor Camp for three years.

Mr. Chen Junku (陈军库), 56, was put in a detention center in May 2003. He was handcuffed to a metal bar for a month, and guards shocked his genitals and anus with an electric baton. They tied his arms behind his back to cut off circulation and inflict extreme pain.

Ms. Gao Hang (高航) was arrested three times and fired from her job because of her belief in Falun Gong. The second time she was arrested, police handcuffed her to a chair and took turns torturing her for days. She escaped and left home to avoid further persecution. When she was last arrested, she was tortured and not given anything to eat for 18 days. The authorities released her on medical parole when she was near death.

Ms. Zheng Aizhen (郑爱珍), 71, was at home with her son and daughter-in-law when the police broke into their home in 2000. An officer stabbed her daughter-in-law's hand with a pair of scissors and viciously beat her and her son. Her son escaped and was forced to live away from home.

Mr. Zhao Yunlong (赵云龙), 73, was arrested and put in a forced labor camp in March 2009 after challenging the police outside of a courtroom over the legality of persecuting Falun Gong.

The police extorted a great deal of money from Ms. Lin Xinrong (蔺新荣), who is in her 70s, ransacked her home, and put her in a forced labor camp. Ms. Dong Jihua (董际华), 76, also suffered greatly during the past 16 years of persecution.

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners during the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the {{610 Office}, on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
