(Minghui.org) Over 120,000 Falun Gong practitioners in China have filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin between late May and July 30, 2015, according to reports compiled by the Minghui website. More than 100 practitioners are from Jiutai District, Changchun City, Jilin Province.
The complaints charge the former Chinese dictator with launching the brutal suppression of Falun Gong and hold him responsible for the tremendous suffering inflicted upon them by his campaign. The criminal complaints were mailed to the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate.
Many of these practitioners recounted how Falun Gong returned them to health and gave them a new outlook on life. Their dream to live a healthier and happier life, however, was shattered when Jiang Zemin launched a nationwide campaign to eradicate the practice in 1999.
Simply for refusing to give up their belief, they were arrested, detained, tortured, and had their homes ransacked and personal belongings seized by the communist authorities. Many also saw their families implicated for their belief, while some were also forced to pay huge fines.
Most of the practitioners from Jiutai who filed criminal complaints are now aged from 40s to 60s, which means they went through the golden period of life in fear and persecution. Their sufferings are astonishing. Many of them suffered pain of losing their family, husband, wife or parent due to continuous stress and fear.
Below, we profile a few of these practitioners:
Ms. Yang Hongyan (杨红艳), 50, is a farmer. She was arrested 6 times, sentenced to 2 years and 1 month of forced labor, and detained in a brainwashing center twice. Her husband was sentenced to forced labor 4 times. Her parents-in-law were also arrested and detained. Their 11-year-old child was left alone at home.
Ms. Liu Yufen (刘玉芬), 60, is a farmer. She was arrested 5 times and sentenced to forced labor 4 times. She and her family were harassed and threatened many times. Her husband contracted a heart disease because of the stress and fear. He passed away in 2008.
Mr. Zhu Dexiang (朱德祥), 64, was fired from his job. He was arrested twice, sentenced to 1 year of forced labor, taken to a brainwashing center for 3 months, forced to live away from home for 1 year, and sentenced to 12 years in prison. He was tortured physically and mentally, and was force-fed for 4 days.
Ms. Xu Yazhen (许亚珍), 57, was tortured and beaten in a detention center. Her husband passed away. She was sentenced to a 5-year prison term, underwent brainwashing, and was forced to do hard labor. Her child was left at home alone.
Ms. Zhang Xiuhua (张秀华), 50, was arrested twice and sentenced to a 5-year prison term. Her husband and her father were prevented from visiting her in prison. Both passed away amid enormous stress.
Ms. Wang Shuqin (王淑芹), 45, is a farmer. She was arrested 4 times, detained 3 times, detained in a brainwashing center twice for a total of 45 days, and sentenced to 2 years of forced labor. She was denied family visits. Her father passed away while she was detained.
Ms. Dong Shuqin (董淑琴), 78, and her husband were arrested and detained once. Their home was ransacked. Her husband passed away.
Ms. Gong Xiaoli (拱小丽), 45, works in a bank. She and her husband Mr. Shi Wenzhuo (史文卓) were on the wanted list, forced to leave home, arrested, beaten, detained, and sentenced to force labor and prison. Police also ransacked their homes, and their family lived in fear for years.
Mr. Shi Wenzhuo was arrested, imprisoned, and sentenced to 1 year of forced labor, for a total of 13 years. He is still held and tortured in Jilin No. 2 Prison. He has been beaten, subjected to the “death bed torture,” deprived of sleep, forced to sit on a “small stool,” and held in solitary confinement.

Background
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
