(Minghui.org) Over 134,000 people have filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party, between the end of May and August 6, 2015. They are urging the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme People's Court to bring Jiang to justice for his abuses of power in orchestrating the persecution of Falun Gong in China.

Among the 134,000 plaintiffs, 2,677 are Beijing Falun Gong practitioners and their family members.

The large number of complaints filed in such a short period touched a nerve with Beijing authorities, who responded with new waves of arrests. In particular, the police arrested 46 Falun Gong practitioners on July 20 alone for a total of 70 arrests in July.

The following are several cases of the arrests made in July.

Orphan Sues Jiang on Behalf of Father Who Died as a Result of the Persecution

Ms. Han Yu (韩雨) filed a lawsuit against Jiang on July 16 on behalf of her father, Mr. Han Junqing (韩俊清). Four days later the police arrested her and detained her in Haidian Detention Center.

Ms. Han Yu's father died in the Fangshan Detention Center in 2004, two months after his arrest. When her family viewed his body, they saw a large incision in his abdomen, which was filled with ice cubes. His organs were missing, presumably harvested for organ sales. The police wouldn't let the family take any photographs of the body and quickly cremated his remains.

Police in Bulletproof Vests Break into Practitioner's Home to Make Arrest

Over 20 police officers in bulletproof vests broke into Ms. Guo Xiulan's (国秀兰) home on July 20 and arrested her. They returned later the same day to confiscate Ms. Guo's Falun Gong books.

Ms. Guo's husband and daughter went to the Changping District 610 Office on July 29 to inquire about her whereabouts. An agent threatened to put the husband in a brainwashing center with Ms. Guo if he continued to look for her.

Police Confiscate Practitioner's Property After Making Arrest

At midnight on July 19, officers in the Haidian District broke into Ms. Chen Yuqing's (陈玉清) home and arrested both her and her daughter, who does not practice Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her computers, printers and Falun Gong books. When Ms. Chen's husband went to the Shuguang Police Station to look for her the next day, the police lied to him regarding her whereabouts.

Nine Practitioners Tried, One Convicted in July

Beijing courts also tried nine practitioners in the month of July, convicting one of them.

Mr. Ma Jian (马健) from Pinggu District was tried on July 9 without his family's knowledge and sentenced to six months. His father Mr. Ma Zhanquan (马占全) was arrested in January 2015 and remains detained.

Ms. Yang Qiuying (杨秋英), Ms. Li Shuangli (李双丽) and Mr. Hu Qinggui (胡庆贵) were arrested on February 2014 and tried on July 8, 2015.

Ms. Zhang Jiguo (张继国) was arrested in October 2014. Yan Musen (严木森), Li Hui (李慧), Chen Yulei (陈宇雷), and Sun Yuanlong (孙源隆) were arrested in February 2014. All five of them were tried on July 21, 2015.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law now allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
