(Minghui.org) Many Falun Gong practitioners are now exercising their legal right to sue Jiang Zemin for launching the persecution of Falun Gong and causing them great harm and tremendous suffering during the past 16 years. The momentum of this new wave of lawsuits against the former Chinese dictator is building.
The Minghui website receives copies of criminal complaints against Jiang from many practitioners daily. In this report, we present a snapshot of some practitioners whose copies of lawsuits were received on June 28, 2015.
These lawsuits are mailed to the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate, which are required to process all criminal complaints filed by citizens, as of the court's recent ruling.
The six practitioners involved in the five lawsuits below come from different walks of life: a government official, a police officer, two college professors, an engineer, and a hairdresser. Though they have vastly different backgrounds, they have all suffered similar persecution during the past 16 years.
All of the practitioners had been arrested, detained, or tortured. Hairdresser Ms. Tai Yulong (台玉龙) was beaten to death just seven days of her arrest in 2001. Her family saw blood stains around her mouth and bruises on her right eye. Her arms and legs were badly swollen, and her abdomen was caved in. The police cremated her body without her family's consent.
Ms. Tai's older daughter, then 16, became withdrawn and her younger daughter, then 13, often cried for mom during her sleep. Her husband is now taking legal action against Jiang Zemin for his wife's death and his family's suffering.

Key Facts:Mr. Guo was kidnapped and detained twice, locked up and tortured in a forced labor camp for two years. Managers at his workplace and his family were forced to offer bribes and treat the police to dinners in exchange for a lighter punishment. They spent 160,000 yuan on satisfying the police's whims and entertaining them. Mr. Guo was eventually given forced labor instead of a prison sentence.
Current Circumstances:Mr. Guo's latest arrest was in 2004. He was tortured in a forced labor camp for two years and placed under 24-hour surveillance. He is now released from the forced labor camp but is under constant harassment and surveillance from the police, officials, and agents from the 610 Office.

Before her persecution, Ms. Song was twice recognized with the Best Lecturer award at the university in the area of basic medicine. When she applied for her old position, Ms. Song was denied for having “substandard ideology.”

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
