Snapshot of Falun Gong Practitioners Whose Copies of Lawsuits Against Jiang Zemin Were Received by Minghui on July 13-14, 2015

(Minghui.org) Many Falun Gong practitioners are now exercising their legal right to sue Jiang Zemin for launching the persecution of Falun Gong and causing them great harm and tremendous suffering during the past 16 years. The momentum of this new wave of lawsuits against the former Chinese dictator is on the rise.

The Minghui website receives copies of criminal complaints against Jiang from many practitioners daily. In this report, we present a snapshot of some of the practitioners whose copies of lawsuits were received by Minghui on July 13-14, 2015.

These lawsuits are mailed to the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate, which are required to process all criminal complaints filed by citizens, as of a recent ruling by the Supreme People's Court.

Synopsis of the Practitioners' Accounts

Mr. Ge and wife, both former college educators, had to leave their home to avoid persecution for 12 years. The couple, in their 70s, is experiencing financial hardship, because officials are denying them their pension. Their son was also sentenced to forced labor and missed the birth of his daughter.

Ms. Zou, 68, a doctor, has been held a total of 10 years and 5 months in prison or labor camp for her belief in Falun Gong. She was tortured, force-fed and injected with unknown drugs. She is experiencing financial hardship, as well.

Mr. Pan Kaixiang, a professor at Zhejiang University, became a key target in the persecution. He was imprisoned for five years, detained four times and fired by his workplace.

Ms. Jiang Jianxue, a teacher, was sentenced to forced labor twice, for a total of four and a half years. She was tortured and her legs are still numb. She can no longer teach due to her physical impairment.

Ms. Zhou Dongdong, a government official, was force-fed twice a day and injected with unknown drugs for 30 days. She was detained six times, her home was ransacked twice, and she was fired from her job.

Mr. Ge Nianhong Family (葛年宏)

Profession: College educatorsHometown: Tongling City, Anhui ProvinceDate filed: June 28, 2015

Key FactsMr. Ge was taken to a brainwashing center for 10 days in September 2001 and brainwashed around the clock.

He and his wife had to leave their home in July 2003 to avoid further persecution. His wages were suspended for 12 years and he is denied his pension.

Ms. Yao, Mr. Ge's wife, was arrested in Beijing in December 2000, shocked with electric batons, deprived of sufficient food and forbidden to use the toilet for five days. She was held in a local detention center for over a month and extorted 1,000 yuan.

She was sentenced to forced labor for a year in 2001, forced to perform hard labor and brainwashed. Her pension was stopped in 2015.

Mr. Ge Chuan, their son, was sentenced to forced labor for a year in 2007. He was monitored around the clock, tortured and restricted in the use of the toilet.

His wife was at the end of pregnancy and he missed the birth of his daughter. He resumed work at a reduced wage, his passport was confiscated, and he has been refused an exit permit.

Ms. Zou Jinying (邹金英)

Profession: DoctorHometown: Guiyang City, Guizhou ProvinceDate filed: July 2015

Key FactsMs. Zou was sentenced to three years of forced labor twice, in October 2000 and March 2004. Her photocopiers with a value of 17,400 yuan were confiscated.

She was held in detention center for eight months in 2011, before she was sentenced to four years in prison.

She was held in small confinement cell, deprived of sleep, force-fed, tortured, injected with unknown drugs and given blood tests.

Her work contract was terminated in January 2001. She has been detained for 10 years, which caused great financial loss, as well as stress to her family.

Mr. Pan Kaixiang (潘开祥)

Profession: ProfessorHometown: Hangzhou City, Zhejiang ProvinceDate filed: July 2015

Key FactsMr. Pan was held in a detention center from December 24, 1999 to June 5, 2000. He was forced to perform hard labor from 12 to 16 hours daily and tortured for not completing his work quota. He was traumatized, had severe hair loss, aged significantly and lost his job.

He was sentenced to five years in prison in June 2001. Forced hard labor resulted in back problems. He was under strict surveillance around the clock and brainwashed. He was tortured and restricted from using the toilet.

Mr. Pan was forcibly taken to the brainwashing center in September 2011 and August 2012, held for around 50 days each time.

Current SituationMr. Pan still is still monitored and harassed by the authorities. He lives in fear, often has nightmares and is without a stable income.

Ms. Jiang Jianxue (蒋建学)

Profession: TeacherHometown: BeijingDate filed: July 2015

Key FactsMs. Jiang was held in a forced labor camp for two years beginning in January 2003.

She was again sentenced to two and a half years of forced labor in April 2006. She was forced to sit for over 18 hours a day, which caused muscle atrophy and was close to having limbs amputated. She was numb from head to foot, incontinent and could not walk properly.

She could no longer lecture because of her physical condition, which caused financial hardships. Her parents' health deteriorated from anxiety and fear.

Ms. Zhou Dongdong (周冬东)

Key FactsMs. Zhou was detained for 15 days in October 2000. She was again detained in January 2001 and released after seven days of hunger strike.

Ms. Zhou was sentenced to forced labor in December 2001 and brainwashed. She was released after three months.

Ms. Zhou was again arrested in October 2009. Her home was ransacked and many of her personal belongings and her printer were confiscated. She went on a hunger strike for 30 days in the Jinan Detention Center, was force-fed twice a day and injected with unknown drugs.

She was arrested and held for 15 days in February 2014 and 10 days in January 2015.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
