Snapshot of Falun Gong Practitioners Whose Lawsuits Against Jiang Zemin Were Received by Minghui on July 11-12, 2015

(Minghui.org) Many Falun Gong practitioners are now exercising their legal right to sue Jiang Zemin for launching the persecution of Falun Gong, and causing them great harm and tremendous suffering during the past 16 years. The momentum of this new wave of lawsuits against the former Chinese dictator is on the rise.

The Minghui website receives copies of criminal complaints against Jiang from many practitioners each day. In this report, we present a snapshot of some of the practitioners whose copies of lawsuits were received by Minghui on July 11-12, 2015.

These lawsuits are mailed to the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate, which are required to process all criminal complaints filed by citizens, as of a recent ruling by the Supreme People's Court.

Excerpts of Six Persecution Cases

Ms. Zong Xunyong, a bank economist, was imprisoned for more than eleven years and subjected to over 20 different torture methods. He was dismissed from his job, resulting in a financial loss of 700,000 yuan. His mother passed away, and his wife and son are mentally traumatized.

Mr. Tang Chengyun, a well respected school principal known for philanthropy, was dismissed from work and repeatedly detained. His wife turned against him out of fear of being persecuted.

Ms. Liu Fen, in her seventies, and an officer at the Department of Space, was held at a brainwashing center five times.

Ms. Li Ying'e, a government official at the State Administration of Taxation, was sentenced to forced labor twice, where she was forced to perform hard labor, deprived of sleep, and tortured.

Ms. Wang Jifang, an engineer at the Lunan Geological Engineering Investigation Institute, was brainwashed and constantly monitored by her employer. Her wages were suspended.

Ms. Yuan Xiuying became illness-free after practicing Falun Gong. However she has lived in fear of being persecuted for years.

Case 1: Mr. Zong Xunyong (踪训勇)

Profession: EconomistHometown: Pei County, Jiangsu ProvinceDate filed: July 2015

Key FactsMr. Zong has been arrested and detained many times, forced to leave his home, and imprisoned for more than eleven years.

Mr. Zong has been subjected to over 20 different types of torture during his detention. He was brutally beaten, shocked with an electric baton, forced to do hard labor, and deprived of sleep, among other tortures. His spine, heart, and other internal organs were injured by the mistreatment.

He was fired from his job for believing in Falun Gong, which caused him a loss of 700,000 yuan. Personal assets were confiscated in illegal house raids, and officials extorted money from him.

The long-term persecution traumatized his family. His wife is incontinent and mentally unstable. His son fell into a deep depression and attempted suicide several times. His mother constantly worried for her son. Her health worsened, and she passed away in November 2009.

Case 2: Mr. Tang Chengyun (唐成云)

Profession: Primary school principalHometown: Dazhou City, Sichuan ProvinceDate filed: July 2015

Key FactsMr. Tang was detained for over two months in February 2001. His office and home were ransacked, and his computer, cell phone, and personal belongings were confiscated. He was fired from his job as principal after his release.

He was detained twice, in 2002 and 2004, and lost his management job at a university.

Mr. Tang was then detained for 15 days in February 2009, and his cell phone and daughter's computer were confiscated.

This practitioner was again arrested in April 2009 and beaten by officers. Officials extorted over 20,000 yuan from his parents, who are in their eighties, for his release.

He was taken to a brainwashing center in May 2009 and released two months later, when his father became critically ill.

His wife could not take the threats and pressure, and stabbed a fruit knife into his lap and tried to divorce him. His daughter has been living in fear and has isolated herself from everyone.

Case 3: Ms. Liu Fen (刘芬)

Key FactsMs. Liu has been taken to a brainwashing center five times, held for 15 days in 2001, 20 days in 2006, and over ten days in 2008 and 2010.

She was taken to the Qinglonghu Brainwashing Center for 20 days in April 2014. She was subjected to forced brainwashing and monitoring around the clock, which caused a recurrence of a heart problem and high blood pressure.

Case 4: Ms. Li Ying'e (李英娥)

Profession: Government officialHometown: Xianyang City, Shaaxi ProvinceDate filed: July 2015

Key FactsMs. Li was arrested in November 2001. She was tortured while being interrogated, including being handcuffed to a chair and window, before she was taken to a detention center. She could not lift her right arm for several months.

Ms. Li was sentenced to one-and-a-half years of forced labor in July 2008. She was forced to do hard labor for over ten hours per day, and was exposed to the hot sun without water.

She was taken to the Shaanxi Forced Labor Camp for Women in June 2011, where she was subjected to brainwashing, deprived of sleep, tortured, and humiliated.

Case 5: Ms. Wang Jifang (王继芳)

Profession: Engineer of of geology and mineralHometown: Jining City, Shandong ProvinceDate filed: July 2015

Key FactsMs. Wang was arrested on July 25, 1999, and illegally held by her workplace for two months.

She was held in a police station for three days in October 2002. Falun Gong materials and over 100 yuan in cash were confiscated. Her workplace escorted her back home and put her under around-the-clock surveillance for more than two months. Her wages of over 2,500 yuan were suspended, and they demanded that she pay 50 yuan per person each day for four monitors.

She was held in a brainwashing center for about 50 days in 2003, where they demanded she take a blood test.

Case 6: Ms. Yuan Xiuying (袁秀英)

Key FactsMs. Yuan had heart a attack, and was in critical condition before she began practicing Falun Gong in December 2004, after which she became healthy.

Because of the persecution of Falun Gong, she has been living in fear for years.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
