(Minghui.org) Former civil servant Mr. Ruan Xianchou filed a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese communist regime, for the imprisonment and torture he suffered for practicing Falun Dafa.

Receipt of the criminal complaint sent by Mr. Ruan to the Supreme People's Procuratorate

Ruan Xianchou, 45, started to practice Falun Dafa in 1996. He persisted in the practice because it enabled him to quit bad habits and improved his health.

After Jiang Zemin launched the brutal campaign to eradicate Falun Dafa in China, Mr. Ruan was detained five times and imprisoned for a total of nine years. He was twice taken to a forced labor camp for “re-education” for a total of five years, followed by a four-year prison term in 2011.

Police also ransacked his home five times in the past 16 years, in total seizing about one million yuan in cash and personal belongings. In 2011, Mr. Ruan was fired from his job due to pressure from local authorities.

During his imprisonment, Mr. Ruan was restricted from using the restroom and deprived of sleep for extended periods of time.

Mr. Ruan says Jiang Zemin committed genocide for persecuting and killing Falun Dafa practitioners during the past 16 years. He asks the Supreme People's Procuratorate to prosecute the former dictator for crimes including murder, torture, violating practitioners' constitutional right to belief, and unlawful deprivation of property.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
