(Minghui.org) Ms. Liu Youai, a 72 year old retired teacher and a Falun Gong practitioner, was illegally arrested in May for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to a detention center, and an arrest warrant was issued.
Xuzhou Justice Bureau made it difficult for her family to hire an attorney to defend her.
Ms. Liu was spotted by a police officer when she was talking to people about Falun Gong in Pizhou City, Jiangsui Province on May 22, 2015. The officer summoned other police from the Zhaodun Township Police Station, arrested her, and took her to the station. The Domestic Security Division police came and interrogated her.
At noon, the police from nearby Yundong Police Station went to her home. Finding no one at home, an officer climbed over the wall, found the key, and opened the door. Other police rushed into the house, ransacked it and took bags of Falun Gong books and informational materials.
Ms. Liu was taken to the Xuzhou Detention Center that day around 7 p.m.
In 2005, Ms. Liu was sent to a forced labor camp for a year. She has often been harassed by agents from the 610 Office and the Yundong Police Station after the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999.
Authorities in Pizhou City Who Persecute Falun Gong:
Chen Qiang (陈强):He is around 40 years old and works for the 610 Office. He has actively participated in the persecution of practitioners for a long time. While others were reluctant to do things against their consciences, he was very enthusiastic in doing them. He said proudly about persecuting practitioners: “Other people say what I did was bad, but I feel what I did was great.”
Du (杜):His given name is not known. He is a member of the Domestic Security Division. He investigated and harassed many local practitioners and has been especially active in recent years.
Liu Zhaohe (刘兆和):He is in his fifties, and has worked for the 610 Office for about eight years. He has participated in the persecution from the start.
