(Minghui.org) “Shouldn't you police officers be catching those Falun Gong who are putting up those posters all over the place? The maintenance workers are frustrated with them. They're everywhere! Those Falun Gong are even out there handing people DVDs. Is it that hard to catch them?"

“They're attacking the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)!”

The police chief smiled at the two people talking to him. An approachable person who liked company, he was making small talk at a tea shop.

“Actually," replied the chief, "you just don't understand them. They're only speaking up for themselves and trying to correct all the lies that the government has been making up about them. The DVDs they're distributing are a cultural show put on by Chinese in America. It's a wonderful display of 5,000 years of Chinese culture.

“And standing up to the Party isn't a bad thing,” he continued. “I mean, look at the Party officials – all of them have price tags, and they'll take bribes for anything. We all hate them, don't we?

“What do you mean by 'attacking'? Falun Gong practitioners have no weapons and don't want to harm anyone. How could they attack the Party? They're not terrorists. Why should the police go after them if they've done nothing wrong?

“We do have a few reported cases of Falun Gong practitioners, but they're old ladies who've never committed a crime. What are we supposed to do with them? We have to release them,” said the chief softly.

This chief has consistently protected the Falun Gong practitioners who have ended up in his custody, and his kind acts have not gone unnoticed. Two such instances are recounted below.

Practitioner Returned Home Safely

Practitioner "Ms. Yong" was distributing Shen Yun DVDs and placed one on a car parked in front of a house. The man of the house saw it and demanded to see her ID. When she would not show it, he called the police.

The chief came and was about to take Ms. Yong away when the man said, “I want to see how you punish her” and started to get into the police car.

“If you come with us, you will be detained as long as she is detained,” said the chief. The man gave up.

At the station, the chief made a call to someone in Ms. Yong's apartment complex, who hurried over and took Ms. Yong home.

“Ignore That Call”

Several practitioners were handing out Shen Yun DVDs, when someone called the police station and reported them.

The caller urged the police to hurry over and catch the practitioners. But it just so happened that the police officer who picked up the phone had an urgent matter at home to attend to.

Both the caller and the officer's family were demanding that she come right away. Not knowing what to do, she burst into tears.

When the chief heard about it, he said to the officer, “Ignore that call. Go home and take care of things.”

In the end, no one from the police station went to arrest the practitioners, and they returned home safely.
