(Minghui.org) My eldest sister visited us in August 1997 and said that our mother had changed into a different person. To this note, she said that we had to thank Falun Gong for her transformation.
She also told me that all mother's ailments disappeared and her temper had improved.
When I saw my mother, I noticed that she had indeed changed and looked and walked like a young person. From a person who bemoaned her life and often said that she would rather die than live, she had turned into this vibrant person.
Conquering Interference
My mother gave me Zhuan Falun, the main book of the practice, in March 1998. She hoped that I would benefit from practicing Falun Gong since I was unhealthy.
After so many years of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) atheist education, I believed that divine beings were old wives' tales. Therefore, I could not recognize the preciousness of this book. I still sometimes wanted to read it occasionally, but faced interference in the form of sleepiness, which stopped any attempt to readfurther.
When a practice site was set up in my neighborhood, I grew more curious and decided to have a look. I studied the Fa and learned the exercises that day.
Some practitioners told me that my inborn quality was good because I was able to do the double-lotus position for 30 minutes after three days. In this way, it seemed that the founder of Falun Gong, called Master by practitioners, had not given up on me and helped me become a practitioner.
After practicing Falun Gong for four days, I woke up in the night and saw a large, colorful Falun in front of me, which was surrounded by many smaller golden and shiny Falun's. When I woke up, my body felt so comfortable and it felt as if all my ailments disappeared. No wonder my mother kept telling me to learn Falun Gong.
It is just as Master said:
"When one’s Buddha-nature emerges, it will shake ‘the world of ten directions.’Whoever sees it will come to give a hand and help this person out unconditionally. In providing salvation to humankind, the Buddha School does not attach any condition or seek returns, and it will help unconditionally. Accordingly, we can do many things for practitioners." (Zhuan Falun)
Husband Beaten
My husband also experienced health problems, with the worst being rheumatoid arthritis, which was rather painful. His symptoms worsened despite medical treatment.
Having seen the changes in me, my husband read Zhuan Falun in one setting. After that, he no longer experienced his rheumatoid arthritis symptoms.
Before he read the book, because of his health problems, the doctors suggested that he quit smoking and drinking. However, he was too addicted and just could not stop. Yet, after reading Zhuan Falun, he was able to immediately quit.
After the CCP launched the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, my husband went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice it. He was arrested and sentenced to forced labor. The police beat him to the point of losing consciousness.
No matter how often they told him to stop the practice, he told them that he would not do so. They continued to beat him but stopped when they thought that he might die. They released him and he rode his bike home.
Immediate Karmic Retribution
Despite the brutal persecution, my husband and I refused to give up Falun Gong. About 20 local and out of town practitioners, including myself, decided to demonstrate the Falun Gong exercises at a fair in November 1999. Although we were forbidden to do the exercises, we decided to ignore this.
Several police cars appeared and stopped on a bridge about 100 meters away. We discussed the situation and decided that Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is the highest good and that we had done nothing wrong. We continued, so the police arrested us. We realized later that we did not understand the Fa well because we should have left when there was still time.
Two practitioners had children with them—a one-year-old and a three-year-old. The police confiscated all our money, and then they tortured us, trying to find out who led us there. Eventually, they divided us into groups and put us into several courtyards.
An officer who looked to be the leader approached me the next day. I told him that we, including the children, had not been given any food or water. I asked that they return our belongings back and let us go home. He turned sarcastic and told me that we should ask our Master to bring us food.
Actually he was quite irrational, yelling and waving his arms wildly. He grabbed my hair, punched my face and kicked me. I told him that I must have offended him with something I said and told him to let out his anger on me.
Immediately, his hands stopped in mid-air. He stood there, frozen. I saw his hands, which looked darker and longer, almost like ghost hands. His face became darker, too. He looked in shock at his hands and then told me to leave him alone.
“Master was protecting you!” one practitioner told me. “That policeman hit your face. Your face was not bruised, but that part of his face darkened. He received immediate karmic retribution for hitting you.”
He changed by the time I saw him again. “After you get out, just practice at home if you think it is good,” he said. “Do not do it in public. You know how the CCP is. You can't fight it.”
“As I told you yesterday, my life was given by my Master,” I said. “Without Falun Gong, I don't know what I would be doing now. You don't know how good it is since you do not practice it. If you did, I believe you would be even firmer than me.”
Benefits after Reading Zhuan Falun
My son's girlfriend, who eventually married him on Master's birthday, used to have stomach problems. She suffered great pain after every meal, and she thought it was strange that we did not keep any medication in our house. She said that her family had a drawer full of medication at their home. Before we practiced Falun Gong, we also kept lots of medication.
I thought that this was a perfect opportunity to introduce Falun Gong to her and to tell her how I benefited from it. So I explained that the CCP's publications about Falun Gong were untrue and that it uses them to justify its persecution. She was shocked at the CCP's evilness, and she even agreed to quit it.
After she read Zhuan Falun, she was no longer bothered with stomach pain.
She and my son had a baby girl in the summer of 2008. Our granddaughter loved to watch Shen Yun and sat through an entire show at the age of one. At two-and-a-half, she often saw Master and a spinning Falun with her Celestial Eye, and she was able to recite more than 50 poems from Hong Yin. She also often did the sitting meditation for more than 30 minutes.
There are so many stories to tell. But, in the end, we know that all we have has been given to us by Master.
