(Minghui.org) The daughter of my classmate drank a bottle of paraquat, a potent herbicide, while upset with her parents. Though doctors said her survival was unlikely, she miraculously recovered after sincerely reciting “Falun Dafa is good.”
It happened in June 2013, when my classmate and her husband had stayed up all night one night to irrigate their land. Their daughter was supposed to make breakfast, but she got up late and they scolded her. The girl was extremely upset and told her brother that she drank herbicide.
Her parents thought she was bluffing until she started to show symptoms of poisoning. They then rushed her to the provincial hospital. The doctor said that her chances of survival were less than two percent, because there was no antidote.
I heard about it three days later and visited them in the hospital the next morning. The daughter looked fragile. She could not eat or drink and would occasionally lose consciousness. Many of her relatives thought she would not make it and came to say their goodbyes.
I said to my classmate, “Stop crying. Your daughter will survive as long as you sincerely recite, 'Falun Dafa is good and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.'” I held the girl and said the phrases over and over.”
The girl ate a few cherries that afternoon. That was the first thing she had eaten in three days. Before I left at around 6 p.m., I reminded the family to be firm that the girl say those words. I advised them to do the same.
My classmate called me the following day and said that her daughter could get out of bed and eat. She gradually recovered and was discharged two weeks later.
The doctor said it was a miracle that the girl had survived.
