Additional Persecution News from China – May 12, 2015 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 17 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 6 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Ili, Xinjiang] Ms. Jiang Ping and Mr. Yang Youxi Sentenced

Ms. Jiang Ping and Mr. Yang Youxi were each sentenced to a four-year prison terms by the Huocheng Court in early April 2015.

2. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yang Feng and Ms. Yu Guifang Facing Trial

Mr. Yang Feng and Ms. Yu Guifang will be tried on May 22, 2015.

3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Meihua Facing Trial

Ms. Xu Meihua was tried by the Ganjingzi District Court on May 18, 2015. She was arrested on October 16, 2014, and is detained at the Jiaojia Detention Center.

4. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhu Lanmei Detained

Ms. Zhu Lanmei was arrested by officers from the Yaolou Police Station on the evening of May 7, 2015. She is detained at the Xingtai Detention Center.

5. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Qingshan Arrested

Ms. Wang Qingshan was arrested at home by five to six officers from the Chengli Police Station in Huancui District, Weihai City on the morning of May 11, 2015. The police ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong, a computer, printer, and recorder.

6. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Bai Yumei Arrested

Ms. Bai Yumei was arrested at home by a dozen officers from the Hongqidajie Police Station on the morning of May 7, 2015 despite her poor condition. The police ransacked her home and confiscated ten Falun Gong books, computer, hundreds of DVDs, and 21 yuan bills with information about the persecution of Falun Gong written on them.

Ms. Bai was taken to the Hongqi Police Station and then transferred to the No. 2 Detention Center the next day. However, the detention center refused to take her because she developed high blood pressure of 190/120 and arrhythmia. On the way to the hospital, she lost consciousness. The police had to leave her in the hospital for treatment and told her family that she was released on bail pending trial. Her family was extorted 10,000 yuan as bail.

7. [Beijing] Mr. Yan Kezhong and Ms. Zhang Yongmei Arrested

Mr. Yan Kezhong and his wife Ms. Zhang Yongmei were arrested on May 11, 2015. The police ransacked their home. Ms. Zhang was released that evening and Mr. Yan is still detained.

8. [Chongqing] Ms. Yang Hong Arrested

Ms. Yang Hong was arrested by two plainclothes officers on the morning of April 28, 2015. Her family was ordered to bring her clothes to the Security Department.

9. [Changsha County, Hunan Province] Eight Practitioners Sentenced

Eight practitioners were sentenced by the Changsha County Court on April 29, 2015: Four practitioners to a three-year and six-month prison term; one practitioner to a three-year and three-month term; one practitioner to a three-year and two-month term; and two practitioners to a three-year term. They are appealing their cases.

The eight practitioners are Ms. Yan Hong, Mr. Li Xuangang, Mr. Guan Dengyang, Mr. Zhou Deyuan, Mr. Zhang Lingge, Ms. Liu Chunxia, Mr. Zhang Xinqi, and Mr. Yao Dahua.

10. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Xingxiang Detained

Ms. Wang Xingxiang was arrested in late April 2015 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is currently detained at the Dehui City Detention Center.

11. [Songming County, Yunnan Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced

Mr. Wang Zhengli, Ms. Wang Juzhen, Ms. Bi Jinmei and Ms. Li Xiaoling were sentenced on May 4, 2015. Ms. Li was sentenced to a three year imprisonment with four years probation. The other three practitioners were sentenced to a seven year and six months imprisonment.

The four practitioners were arrested on August 16, 2014 for distributing Shen Yun DVDs in Xundian County, Kunming, Yunnan Province.
