(Minghui.org) I've been very busy lately. I am so busy that it's as if I'm always running out of time. Therefore, I asked myself if I am in this state because of the attachment to pursuit? The state of being busy makes me feel that I have a purpose in life and I won't experience loneliness. But, am I busy with anything that has to do with Dafa and the Fa-rectification?
If our purpose is to be busy just for the sake of being busy, then we are involved only in ordinary issues. We are not fulfilling our mission as Dafa practitioners. If we are not saving sentient beings, how can they obtain salvation? Maybe our being busy was arranged by the old forces, resulting in us wasting time that should be spent on saving sentient beings.
I looked within and was shocked at what I found. I obtained many “Outstanding Teacher” awards over the past 10 years. But this only shows that I became a good person after I started practicing Falun Dafa. Actually, this is validating myself and it kept sentient beings from hearing the facts about Falun Dafa.
In hindsight, my devotion to my work is driven by my pursuit of reputation and is based on selfishness.
I asked myself if is it right to be a good person. Working overtime and working hard is correct, of course. However, let's not forget that we are Dafa disciples. We must shoulder the mission of saving sentient beings.
We need to assess the appropriate extent of working hard and making money from the point of view of a practitioner. There's a fine line between working hard and pursuing money and reputation. If we are driven by such pursuits and only dedicated to our everyday business, we are not doing what Dafa disciples should do.
The time before the end of the Fa-rectification is limited. We should balance family life and work well. But we shouldn't get buried by family requirements to the point of delaying catching up with the progress of the Fa-rectification. We don't avoid work, but we should be mindful that our primary task is saving sentient beings.
We shouldn't use “being busy” as an excuse for not studying the Fa or sharing with others. If we can take a step back and calmly handle things for validating the Fa, we can find time to study the Fa, and we can maintain righteous thoughts. We also can share with other practitioners, to help us identify gaps between our cultivation and others'.
Being busy appears to be an issue of not having enough time, but it may be a result of the old forces' interference that hinders us from effectively carrying out Dafa disciples' missions.
