(Minghui.org) I was recently overwhelmed by many issues in my everyday life and in cultivation. As a consequence I felt very unsettled. Then I remembered Master's Fa and calmed down. Master said,

“Get rid of any attachment you have, and don’t think about anything. Just do everything a Dafa disciple should do, and everything will be covered.” (“Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Fa Conference” in Guiding the Voyage)

These words spoke straight to my heart. So I memorized and recited them over-and-over again. Gradually my mind became calm and I was at peace, like I was surrounded by unspeakable beauty. It was a feeling I had never experienced before. It lasted a long time, and I thought, “Practicing cultivation turns out to be so wonderful! Why did I used to think it was only painful?”

I felt tranquil when I memorized Master's Fa and wondered how it was possible.

Master said,

“Cultivation depends on one’s own efforts, while the transformation of gong is done by one’s master.” (Zhuan Falun)

I realized that “one's own efforts” refers to cultivating one's heart. In other words, it refers to letting go of all attachments and notions that can be obstacles in our cultivation. As one's mind becomes empty, one meets the xinxing standard at one's level and then elevates to another realm. A Dafa disciple should just do what a Dafa disciple should do.

Without any worries, one will believe in Master and the Fa and do what Master wants us to do, and will do it well without any other thought in mind. Why do I say this? Because, Master does everything.

Elevating in Cultivation

I often thought that “transformation of gong is done by one’s master” referred to Master transforming divine powers for us. Now I understand the profoundness of what Master said.

Everything in our cultivation is done by Master, such as our entire family benefiting because of us. Additionally, Master resolves our tribulations and karmic debts, and gives us hints to guide us out of delusion. All we have to do is let go of our human notions and attachments.

The more we pursue things, the more attachments we develop and the further we drift away from Master's requirements. Everything human notions conjure up is an attachment.

Master said,

“Being in the midst of ignorance and delusion, people can't see how enormous this Fa is. If someone could truly see it, the playing out of his attachments as he cultivates would be equivalent to sinning against gods.” ("Teaching the Fa in the City of Los Angeles")

Anything our human thoughts come up with is not only worthless, but can also be very harmful. These attachments are very difficult to remove and, moreover, add obstacles to our cultivation and to Master's Fa-rectification. Isn't this a sin against the Fa?

No wonder some practitioners are doing so well and walking their cultivation paths so smoothly. This is only possible because they have followed Master's words:

“Get rid of any attachment you have, and don’t think about anything. Just do everything a Dafa disciple should do.”(“Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Fa Conference” from Guiding the Voyage)

Even though I had memorized these principles a long time ago, it is not until now that I understand it has a deeper inner meaning.

Cultivation Is Simple

A thought echoed in my mind for several days: Practicing cultivation turns out to be so simple! All it takes is letting go of human thoughts and notions.

In fact, Master made it clear long ago,

“ …the entire cultivation process for a practitioner is one of constantly giving up human attachments.” (Zhuan Falun)

“Washing away all wrong thought,Buddhahood, with lessadversity, is wrought.” (“Nothing Kept” from Hong Yin)

I failed to truly understand these Fa truths in my heart. Instead, I held many human thoughts and notions. Without letting go of anything, what was I doing? Could that be counted as cultivation? No wonder cultivation was so difficult for me! While others advanced in cultivation by taking the main road, I was on the side roads, which were, of course, circuitous and difficult.

Others could easily let go of their human notions, so what was wrong with me? After I thought about it, I realized it was because I did not study the Fa well. When one has studied the Fa well and understands the Fa from the bottom his heart, human notions will automatically be removed.

Letting Go of Human Thoughts

Only when we study the Fa well can we develop steadfast righteous thoughts. Only then can we do the things that Master asks us to do.

Once I understood this principle, my heart and body felt light, and many attachments disappeared.

Every word, every sentence, and every paragraph of the Fa holds broad and profound meanings. But how much have I understood? And how close have I followed Master and the Fa?

Master wants nothing but our letting go of human attachments and notions.

The journey of cultivation is coming to an end. It really will be too late if we still slack off in our Fa study. There will be deep, unbearable regret.

Fellow practitioners, let's all “Get rid of any attachment you have, and don’t think about anything. Just do everything a Dafa disciple should do.”(“Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Fa Conference” from Guiding the Voyage)

Let's study the Fa well, remove our human notions, save more people, and advance diligently together!

Thank you, Master!
