Elderly Woman Arrested on the Way to Visit Her Ill Sister

(Minghui.org) An elderly Falun Dafa practitioner was illegally arrested at the train station and taken to a detention center where she was held for 15 days.

Ms. Yang Guoqin, 63, is from Linquan City in Liaoning Province. She was boarding a train to visit her severely ill sister in Jinzhou on March 5, 2015, when officers from the Lingyuan Railway Police Station arrested her.

While Ms. Yang was in custody, director Yang Yufei of the Lingyuan Railway Police Station and officers from the Shenyang Railway Police Branch, the Jinzhou Police Department and the Lingyuan Xiyao Police Station ransacked her home without a search warrant. They confiscated a computer, Falun Dafa books, Shen Yun DVDs, and items with “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” the tenets of Falun Dafa, written on them.

Ms. Yang was transferred to the Xidayingzi Detention Center at 3:00 a.m. that night. She was locked in a small, dark room with the bed next to the toilet. A surveillance camera monitored her 24/7, and she was not allowed to do the Falun Dafa exercises. She was given only two buns and a bowl of cabbage soup to eat the whole day.

Ms. Yang was released 15 days later.
