Complaint Lodged Against Prosecutors and Judge for “Undermining Law Enforcement”

April 26, 2015 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Hebei Province, China

(Minghui.org) Two human rights lawyers recently lodged a formal complaint regarding the actions of two prosecutors and a judge. The complaint lists the offense “undermining law enforcement” in their use of authority persecuting Falun Gong practitioners based on groundless charges.

Lawyers Feng Yanqiang and Chen Zhiyong, representing four Falun Gong practitioners, submitted the complaint with the Langfang Procuratorate on April 9, 2015.

The four practitioners, Mr. Wang Zhanqing, Ms. Wen Jie, Mr. Ma Weishan, and Mr. Kang Jingtai, were arrested last April for sending group text messages to mobile users, to expose the persecution of Falun Gong. Their case was submitted to the court last December.

In their complaint, the lawyers accused Na Shuang and Xiao Fengzhi, two prosecutors from the Sanhe City Procuratorate, for charging their clients with “using a cult organization to undermine the implementation of law.”

The lawyers stated that the charge, cited from Article 300 of China's Criminal Code, is a typical accusation used against Falun Gong practitioners. Their clients violated no laws by persisting in their beliefs and letting people know about the persecution.

The lawyers also included Judge Shi Shaolin in the complaint, for deceiving Mr. Wang Zhanqing into dismissing his lawyer.

The lawyers stated that the prosecutors and judge undermined the implementation of law, not the practitioners.
