(Minghui.org) Ms. He Qiqiong was tried on April 8, 2015 for distributing Falun Gong informational DVDs. Her attorney pleaded not guilty.

Ms. He denied prosecutor Chen's allegations during the trial at Anning City Court. She said, “Falun Gong teaches us Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and has given me good health. I'm exercising my freedom of speech to say Falun Dafa is good. Which law have I broken?”

Her attorney asserted that it is legal to practice Falun Gong and to possess Falun Gong informational materials, and that the prosecutor had no evidence to prove that Ms. He harmed anyone.

The attorney further cited Chinese and international law:

“Declaration on the Elimination of All Forms of Intolerance and of Discrimination Based on Religion or Belief” passed by Universal Declaration of Human Rights and United Nations General Assembly

Article 33 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of China requires the state to respect and protect human rights.

Article 36 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of China gives citizens the freedom of religious belief.

The trial lasted two hours. No verdict was announced.
