(Minghui.org) I have practiced Falun Dafa for 16 years. Because I have benefited so much, I want to ask everyone—especially the Chinese people—to find out more about the practice, and not just believe what the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) says about it.
To this end, I have told, and will continue to tell anyone I meet, the facts about Falun Dafa. I have seen many change their attitude about the practice, from being afraid, to actively searching for the facts.
Explaining the Facts about Dafa to Township Leaders
The township leaders in my village organized people to monitor local Falun Dafa practitioners during the Beijing Olympics in 2008. They covered every exit from the village to prevent us from leaving.
I got nervous as I was returning home from a group Fa study, when a group of people surrounded me. I then remembered one of the poems by Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa:
“Should you have fear,it will seize upon youIf thoughts are righteous,evil will collapse”(“What’s to Fear?” from Hong Yin, Vol. II)
My fear disappeared. The leader of the group demanded to know why I was out at this late hour. I said, “Is it important? My husband passed away not long ago. I was restless, so I went out.”
This man kept probing for where and why. I told him that it was my concern, and that I was free to do so. He was at a loss, and could only think to ask me why I had gone to Beijing and "disturbed the social order." I decided that they needed to hear more about the issue, and asked them to come to my house.
I explained many things to them, beginning with the Tianjin incident, when police illegally arrested practitioners. Other practitioners went to Beijing to ask for their release. I said, “The constitution gives us the right to appeal. How could a peaceful appeal be considered 'disturbing the social order?'”
I told them how I had benefited from Falun Dafa, and how, within six months, all my ailments and my bad habits, such as smoking and playing Mahjong, had disappeared.
“Why doesn't the government allow such a good practice? Practitioners are taught to consider others first and do not fight back when hit or insulted. We are trying to achieve selflessness. Is it wrong to be a good person?”
They looked embarrassed and had nothing to say. The leader finally suggested that I just practice at home. I answered, “But I have to go out, or you will have no way to learn the facts. How will people learn that Falun Dafa is good?”
The daughter of this local leader came down with an untreatable ailment some years later. I went to their home, talked about Falun Dafa, and asked her to recite “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” She recovered soon after reciting these words. The leader witnessed this, and changed his attitude toward Falun Dafa.
From then on, he often asked for Dafa materials. When I posted leaflets about the practice, he said, “Put up more. The whole village should learn the facts.” He also asked for a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.
Neighbors Need to Know the Facts about Falun Dafa
Not only the leaders, but also my neighbors, need to hear about Dafa. I have talked to everyone in the village over the past years. The locals now do not hesitate to ask questions about the practice.
One of them told me, “Heaven is watching us. We should do more good things instead of bad things.”
I clarified the facts about Dafa to a man who told me that he was a member of the Young Pioneers. He gave me his name, Mao Fuo, and asked me to help him quit. He asked for Dafa materials, but I had none with me, so I promised to bring them the next day.
As promised, I brought him a DVD. He was with a young man in uniform who wanted to know more about the DVD. I talked to him about Dafa and advised that he quit the CCP, which he did.
Mao Fu said, “This lady (meaning me) is trustworthy. The other day someone in my village asked her for a DVD. She said she was out of them but would go home and get some. She really did. It was several kilometers away and it was dark!”
Practicing Dafa Again
When I talked to another man about Falun Dafa, he said, “Before Dafa was banned, my home was a practice site, and many villagers came to it daily. When the persecution began in 1999, local leaders demanded a 300-yuan fine from every practitioner. So no one dared to practice anymore.”
He started practicing a different qigong, and said that he regretted his decision because, “Nothing is as good as Falun Dafa.”
We were both in tears. I told him, "Master is merciful. He will be happy if you come back. Don't miss this opportunity.” He decided to practice Dafa again.
I once bumped into a CCP head in this man's village. He asked me to come to his village and talk about Falun Dafa.” I had said to him that he pressured people to not practice Dafa, “If I don't come, who will save you? What did we do wrong by following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance?”
He had no reply. Eventually he understood the facts about Dafa and quit the CCP.
Crowd Said: “She Means Well”
I've also met people who did not want to hear anything about Dafa. One middle-aged man grabbed me to take me to the police station. I remained calm and tried to convince him that it would not be a good idea.
A crowd gathered, and people said, “Release her! Dragging an elderly woman to the police station? It's scandalous. Release her!”
I told them that I only wanted him to quit the CCP, so that he would have a good future.
Several voices came from the crowd, “She means well. If you believe her, quit. If you don't, she won't force you.” “Why did you grab her? You're crazy. Let her go!”
The man released me and left quietly. I was really happy to see that so many people knew the truth. They were supportive of Falun Dafa, and could discern right from wrong.
Notice Slandering Dafa Torn Down
When I talked to one elderly man, he admitted being very scared, and did not want to take any Dafa materials. He whispered that I should be careful, then pointed at at a wall where a notice was posted that slandered Dafa. I wanted to pull it off, but, the old man asked me not to, because there were too many people around.
I didn't pull the notice down, and just kept talking to people about the practice. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized it was not right. That notice shouldn't be up there, poisoning people's minds. So I tore down the notice. People stared at me but no one said a word. I was not afraid.
Master said:
“So as a cultivator, what is truly remarkable is when you can be steadfast and have righteous thoughts so firm that nothing can sway you. Be solid and firm like diamond, or granite, and then nothing can affect you—evil will be afraid at the mere sight of you. If upon encountering trying circumstances your thinking can be truly righteous, then, when faced with the evil’s persecution and when faced with interference, just one sentence of yours fortified with steadfast righteous thoughts can instantly make the evil disintegrate.” (“Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. International Fa Conference”)
I had a deeper understanding of this paragraph after the incident.
Years have passed. People from nearby villages know me, and ask me if I have any gifts for them. By "gifts," they mean Dafa materials.
Some ask me how much I get paid because I work so hard. I tell them that I am doing this because I want everyone to learn the facts about Dafa.
