Additional Persecution News from China – April 8, 2015 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, at least 6 were illegally arrested, and the whereabouts of 1 is unknown.

1. [Neijiang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhong Shuirong Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Zhong Shuirong, in her 60s, was arrested for distributing Falun Gong informational DVDs on the afternoon of March 31, 2015. Her whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Dazhu County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Lingru and Ms. Huang Chuanyu Taken to the Dazhou City Detention Center

Ms. Chen Lingru, 73, is a retired teacher from the Qingnianlu Elementary School. She was sentenced to three years in prison on May 28, 2001, by the Dazhu County Court for going to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. She was fired from her job.

Ms. Chen was arrested again by Gaoxue Town police officers on May 23, 2014, for telling people the facts about Falun Gong. She was released on bail after her son posted 20 years worth of benefits and his pension as bond. She had been placed under residential surveillance. The court announced that Ms. Chen was “released on bail pending trial” on March 17, 2015. But she was again arrested on April 1, 2015, and taken to the Dazhou City Detention Center.

Ms. Huang Chuanyu, 72, was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor on February 28, 2001, and one year of forced labor on April 25, 2008.

3. [Dazhu County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Xu Youliang Harassed

Wu Changxi, director of the Shizi Police Station; Wen Jianjun; and two people from the Shizi Town Government broke into and ransacked Mr. Xu Youliang's home in Duanjia Village, Shizi Town.

4. [Dengta City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Shusheng's Appeal of Six-Year Sentence to be Heard

Mr. Wang Shusheng was sentenced to six years in prison by the Dengta City Court for telling people about Falun Gong. He has appealed to the Liaoyang City Intermediate Court. It was learned recently that Mr. Wang would be tried on April, 9 2015.

5. [Dengta City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Gao Hui Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Gao Hui was sentenced to six years in prison for telling people the facts about Falun Gong. He has appealed to the Liaoyang City Intermediate Court.

6. [Beijing] Ms. Xu Dafang Sentenced to Three and a Half Years in Prison

Ms. Xu Dafang, nearly 70, from the Fengtai District was arrested on March 12, 2014, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She has been held in the Fengtai Detention Center for over a year. She has reportedly been sentenced to three and a half years in prison.

7. [Beijing] Ms. Guan Yingshan and Ms. Du Guiqin Sentenced to Prison

The Wenyu Detached Tribunal of the Chaoyang District Court sentenced Ms. Guan Yingshan to three and a half years and Ms. Du Guiqin to four years in prison on March 19, 2015. Lawyers are appealing their sentences.

8. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Liu Aihua Develops Severe Illness Symptoms in Prison

Ms. Liu Aihua was arrested on November 10, 2012. She was held in the Zhuhai City No. 1 Detention Center for over 17 months and then sentenced to four years in prison.

She was transferred to the Guangdong Women's Prison by the local 610 Office and judiciary. She is in the No. 4 Ward. Prison officials sent her family a notice, stating that Ms. Liu had hypertension, type 2 diabetes, a thyroid tumor, and gallstones.

She has been refused medical parole, and prison officials say that their staff will treat her. Her health, however, continues to deteriorate. Her family has been notified that the tumor on her neck will require surgery.

9. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Practitioner Liu Jie Taken to Brainwashing Center

Practitioner Liu Jie, about 45, was taken to a brainwashing center.

10. [Zhangqiu City, Shangdong Province] Ms. Liu Jinrong and Ms. Gao Hongyun Detained

Ms. Liu Jinrong and Ms. Gao Hongyun were arrested by officers from the Ningjiabu Police Station on the morning of April 5, 2015, for telling people about Falun Gong. Ms. Liu's husband and 12-year-old daughter, who went to the police station that afternoon demanding her release, were detained.

After the two practitioners were taken to the Jinan City No. 3 Detention Center, Ms. Liu's husband and daughter were released.

The police drew blood from Ms. Liu, her husband, and Ms. Gao against their will when they were in the police station. Ms. Liu was beaten.

11. [Chongqing] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Chen Qingbing and Li Liangduan were each sentenced to three years and three months in prison on April 8, 2015. Both have filed an appeal with the Chongqing Intermediate Court.

Mr. Chen was arrested four times in 2000 and sentenced to one year of forced labor in November 2000. He was tortured at the labor camp.

Practitioner Lu Bening was sentenced to one year with three years of probation and has been released.
