(Minghui.org) I was illegally sentenced to prison for refusing to give up my belief in Falun Gong. During my detention, I lost the ability to walk as a result of torture.

Despite my condition, I was held in custody for four years and only returned home in 2012.

Doctors said that I suffered from a serious disability. I could feel nothing from the waist down. My legs would not move when I wanted; I could not even stretch.

I could neither stand nor sit. The doctors told my family that even if they spent thousands on medical treatments, I would never recover the use of my legs.

On my third day at home, a relative who carried me to the toilet asked if I would like to try and stand up. Without thinking, I said yes. She lifted me up then released her grip on me.

I stood up with both legs firmly on the ground. She wept with joy. “You can stand up!”

Thanks to Master, I regained strength in my legs and can now walk slowly without the help of others. Words cannot express my gratitude. I could not wait to get out to tell others how wonderful Falun Gong is.

Telling Others about the Persecution

As I gradually recovered, I took every opportunity to tell others about my experience so that they would see through the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) lies and slander about Falun Gong.

Once, I ran into an officer who had retired from the Public Security Department. He saw me walking with a limp and asked what happened. I told him how I was imprisoned for practicing Falun Gong and was tortured to paralysis.

He was angered by the CCP's brutal ways. He said, “I read the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and Falun Gong booklets. I was skeptical, but, after hearing about your experience, I now believe everything that is written in there.”

I ran into a classmate while riding the bus. As we got off the bus, she noticed that I walked differently from before and asked me about it. When she learned what I went through, she criticized the CCP for being ruthless in its persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

Seeing that she had a sense of justice, I asked her to withdraw from the Communist Youth League and she promptly agreed.
