Additional Persecution News from China – March 16, 2015 (19 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 3 Falun Gong practitioners were in serious condition as a result of mistreatment in prison, 23 practitioners were detained, tried or sentenced to prison, and at least 13 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ma Zhenzhu's 7-Year Prison Term to End

Ms. Ma Zhenzhu from Nanshi Village, Chengnan Town, in the Zichuan District was sentenced to seven years in prison by the Zichuan District Court in February 2009. She was held in the Shandong Province No. 1 Prison. Her prison term is about to end on March 20, 2015.

Ms. Ma was arrested and taken to “the Legal Education Center” by Zichuan District police in March 2002. She managed to walk out of the center, but in order to avoid further persecution, did not return home. On February 21, 2008 she was arrested by Zichuan District 610 Office officers and the local police. The officers took her Falun Dafa books, a cell phone and several thousand yuan. Ms. Ma was held in the Zichuan Detention Center for nearly one year. During that time her family was denied any visits.

2. [Anqiu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Haiqing in Serious Condition

Ms. Wang Haiqing from Anqiu City was sentenced to 12 years in prison in 2008. When she was held in the Shandong Women's Prison, many serious health problems developed. The prison authorities continue to abuse her.

3. [Xilinhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Li Fengying Sentenced

Ms. Li Fengying was sentenced to three years in prison.

4. [Chongqing] Mr. Sun Ruiming Detained

Mr. Sun Ruiming, 53, was arrested by officers from the Tushan Police Station for distributing Falun Gong informational materials on March 12, 2015. He was transferred to the Nan'an District Detention Center on March 13 after spending 24 hours at the police station.

5. [Fushan City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Li Jinyang Secretly Tried

Mr. Li Jinyang from Xiantao City, Hubei Province was arrested by officers from the Zhou Village Public Order Joint Defense Team in Lishui District on January 21, 2014 for posting stickers with information about Falun Gong. His family made many inquiries before learning recently that Mr. Li was held in the Nanhai District Detention Center. The Fushan City Court held a secret hearing about Mr. Li in December 2014.

6. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhao Yuehua Detained

Ms. Zhao Yuehua from the Hexi District was arrested on the afternoon of March 2, 2015. The police ransacked her home and took two printers, two computers, a DVD duplicator, currency bills with facts about Falun Dafa written on them, Falun Dafa books, a photo of the founder of Falun Dafa, and other items. Ms. Zhao was taken to the Hexi Detention Center at 10 p.m. that night.

7. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Xie Tinglan Detained

Ms. Xie Tinglan from the Yuanbaoshan District was arrested by officers from the Yuanbaoshan Police Station for telling people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of March 13, 2015. She is being held in the Yuanbaoshan District Detention Center.

8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Fu Yanfei and Other Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Dongzhan Police Station broke into Ms. Fu Yanfei's home and ransacked it on the evening of March 14, 2015. Ms. Fu and her husband were arrested. Ms. Fu's husband was released by midnight. Another practitioner Ms. Zhang was also arrested at the same time. Ms. Fu is being held at the No. 3 Detention Center, and Ms. Zhang at the Weizigou Detention Center.

9. [Huangchuan County, Henan Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

While distributing Shen Yun DVDs on the afternoon of March 12, 2015, Ms. Li Dianqiu and Ms. Guo Puqin were dragged into a police vehicle and taken into custody by Chen Lin, Yu Jianxi, and half a dozen or so other officers from the Huangchuan County Domestic Security Division. Ms. Li walked out six hours later. Ms. Guo's whereabouts is unknown.

10. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Elderly Ms. Wang Guiqiu Arrested

Ms. Wang Guiqiu, about 70, from the Zhenxing District was arrested by the Liudaogou Border Police Station, Zhenxing District on the morning of March 15, 2015 while distributing Falun Gong informational materials. The police ransacked her home around 1 p.m. Ms. Wang was released that day after the police extorted 5,000 yuan from her family.

11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

The Changchun City Police Department, the Dongzhan Police Station, and the Heshunjie Police Station arrested four or five practitioners and ransacked their homes on March 14, 2015. Mr. Gu Hongwei is being held in the Changchun City No. 1 Detention Center. Ms. Zhang Yanjie is being held in the Weizigou Detention Center. A young practitioner with the last name Fu and practitioner Ma Fei are being held in the Changchun City No. 3 Detention Center. Ms. Chen Liyan's situation is unknown.

12. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sun Haizhu Sentenced

Ms. Sun Haizhu was sentenced to three years in prison. She was taken to the Harbin Women's Prison.

13. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Qiusha and Husband Arrested

Ms. Zhang Qiusha was arrested by police officers from the Daxing District on the evening of March 14, 2015. About six police officers pried open the door and broke into Ms. Zhang's home. They took a computer, cell phones, and Falun Dafa books, among other items. Even her son's computer was confiscated. Ms. Zhang's husband Mr. Wei Xuejun was also arrested.

14. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Imprisoned

Ms. Li Zhenhua, Ms. Li Shumei, and Ms. Li Xuehua are being held in the Jilin Province Women's Prison. Mr. Liu Zhaofu is being held in Jilin Prison.

15. [Shanghai] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Jixiang, Ms. Lu Hua'e, and Ms. Guo Fengfeng were arrested and taken to a police station on the evening of March 14, 2015 for distributing materials containing persecution facts in the Pudong New Area. The police ransacked their home the following morning. The officers confiscated all their Falun Dafa books, computers, and printers.

16. [Dazhu County, Sichuan Province] Three Elderly Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Dong Wanqiong, 78, Ms. Luo Yubi, 70, and Mr. Xiao Yongzhi, 61, were followed and arrested by patrolling officers on the morning of March 13, 2015 while telling people about Falun Gong. Ms. Dong was released late that night. Ms. Luo and Mr. Xiao were taken to the Dazhou City Detention Center.

17. [Kuitun City, Xinjiang Autonomous Region] Mr. Li Xinren and Ms. Pu Haiyan Detained

Mr. Li Xinren and his wife Ms. Pu Haiyan from Kuitun City, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture disappeared around March 11, 2015. It is learned that the couple has been arrested and detained. Details are being investigated.

18. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Two Practitioners in Poor Health, Family Visits Denied

Ms. Wang Yanqiu and Ms. Zhou Yuzhen were transferred to Masanjia Prison District of Liaoning Province Women's Prison in late 2014 for a four-year term. An insider said that both practitioners were in very poor health as a result of abuse and mistreatment, but the prison authorities have not allowed their families to visit them.

19. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Arrested and Sentenced

Ms. Zhang Yunkun was arrested on April 12, 2014 and eight months later, was sentenced to four years in prison. (presiding judge Li Guangzhi: [phone])

Ms. Xing Dan was arrested on July 21, 2014 and sentenced to five years in prison on February 13 this year. (presiding judge Huang Jin: [phone];[phone])

Mr. Zhu Zuohai is disabled and blind in one eye. He was arrested on August 11, 2014 and eight months later, was sentenced to four years in prison. (presiding judge Xu Jinping: [phone])

Ms. Lin Shuyun in her 70s was arrested on August 31, 2014 and this January, was sentenced to three years in prison. (presiding judge Yan Rong: [phone])
